Ok....I tried it....I signed up for Paltalk.



....ok...whats the big fucking deal? I can understand if its cool to check out the 2 (technically 3) shows on XM on the webcams provided by various show members....but the members thats been there for a while are complete assholes. Theres this certain group of people that hog the mic and never give anyone a chance to speak, talk about inside stories, and kiss each others ass.

People try to get involved in conversations and might not say something that people agree with...one of them will pop on mic and tell everyone "Dont be friends with him/her" or they will tell you to "Not talk to them" like a fucking 15 year old teenager.

Its so funny to me that most of them think they are superstars because their name gets mentioned on the radio 2 or 3 times and they are so much better than everyone else cause......Way to showcase the shows and bring in the fans.

Waste of 14 bucks if you ask me....without the shows on there.....its just another chatroom. :thumbdown:

Paltalk is okay, I love a lot of the folks on there it just takes getting used to the way things are there. Many times I'll leave it playing while I do things and I'll hear the stories, fighting, joking, games that go on.

Paltalk does sound boring to me Scott, but in the end it's no different than the messageboards, E-mails and Instant Feedback as far as how people react to it.

There's always going to be a bunch of people who think because they're mentioned on air a lot, they're more important and get a big head about it. That's not Paltalk's fault, that's the people's fault.

There's certian people who won't visit certian rooms in Paltalk just like there's certian people who start their own websites when there's in-fighting and so on and so on.

It's retarded but it's a by-product of this whole process, unfortunately.

All I can tell you is if it's fucking gay, which is sounds like it is, kiss your $15 goodbye, uninstall the program and just listen to the best show on radio like a vast majority of the fans do. You don't need to be part of the social scene with these shows to enjoy them fully.

I just wonder if there is some status rating like there was in High School. When I do show up at a Bar 9 get together or what not I do think that hey, maybe if I was in the Paltalk community or even here on the board more it would be a bit different. Who knows? Maybe just cause life doesn't permit for me to sit online for hours at a time. I don't get the whole watching someone else at their computer thing either. Even in the RF Chat where the cams are on I just feel like a creep.

I watched the last UFC fight, the one were Chuck Liddell got his ass smoked by Keith Jardine, for free. So I shouldn't bash Paltalk.....just that lunchtime hangout of a fan room.

I think, overall, all the stuff with Paltalk and the people around Paltalk is worse for the show than it's good for it. Oh, sometimes there is something funny and clever that rises out of that, but the more the show is Ronnie and Fezzie with contributions from ESD and Earl, the better.

There's one person who makes me turn the channel right away. I won't say who -- not here, anyway.

I completely agree with you. There was a post over on wackbag awhile ago about this very topic. I believe the thread over there had another underlying comment about the large amount of message board/paltalk people trying to become "insiders" were ruining the show. I dunno about all that, but I do know I became a fan back in 2001-2002 because Ron and Fez made me feel like an insider to the show without having to call or make a big name for myself by pretending to be best buds off(and on)-air with the buddays, when really all they get is a passing mention. I dunno, my two cents anyway.

I have fun in the rooms I frequent though... just small groups of people who are very cool with each other.

Not sure how much longer I will be on... now that I have a bit less free time.... and more happiness in my life to keep me OFFline... but I enjoy it for what it is.

Oh and I have never seen the drama... because I avoid it. I graduated from high school YEARS ago. Not looking to return to that mentality!

The Big Ass Room kicks all kinds of ass, and Frenchy (and whoever else may be there) are always kind. Sometimes they take requests for replays of old shows. And you don't need to subscribe to paltalk to be able to listen. Just use the freeware version.
