They're just malt powder or syrup to avoid the steeping and mashing process, but all the rest is pretty much the same.

Regarding Catholics and suicide, I've heard that it's no longer the Catholic Church's stance that suicide sends you to hell. I had a friend/roommate suffering from manic depresion with bi-polar disorder, and he committed suicide.
Edit: Some info I found:
The 1997 Catechism of the Catholic Church indicates that suicide may not always be fully conscious – and thus not one-hundred-percent morally culpable: "Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide."

I'm a recovering catholic, and the last I heard, if you commit suicide, it's because you have a mental disorder and therefore not fully responsible for your actions.
for my part, you should be allowed to commit suicide if you want. it's your life to do with what you want, including ending it.

Peanut brittle is sort of seasonal and not of this modern age. I rarely eat it because of the high risk of snake infestation in the brittle packaging.

I think the only hope for candidates for congressional seats anyway not affiliated with the repubs or demos is to have a constitutional amendment allowing congress members "at large"; instead of representatives going by geography, they go only by ideology. so I could vote for a congressional candidate who happens to be from arizona, for example, even though I live in Philly.
The "donkey" comes from:
When Andrew Jackson was running for president his opponents tried to label him as a "jackass" for having populist views. So he turned it on them and made the donkey his symbol. It stuck with the party & the press.....hence you have the Donkey.

Actually, I Proportional Democracy makes more sense - meaning that each party gets a share of seats equal to its share of the votes. That way there could be multiple parties and people could more easily vote their conscience.

no, I don't think they are the same thing. Washington himself wasn't part of any political party. being a member of a party takes away from the individual candidate's own ideas. there is no way you could get a group of people of ANY size to agree on absolutely everything, but candidates who align with a party typically go along with things they don't agree with to get the backing of that party. that is a compromise. but if someone is strictly individual without party backing, you can be a little more sure that what he says he stands for is what he really does stand for.

it works within the framework of the government because you can vote for a representative who has the same ideals that you do without being bound by geography. I am not saying do away with geographical representation, as many bills in congress have to do with getting money for particular geographic areas (infrastructure improvements, for example) but other things like voting on whether we go to war is not limited to geographic interests. We may need a third congressional house to do what I propose, but I hate that my congressman (Chakah Fattah) doesn't represent anything I stand for and so does nothing for me.
