I don't know a lot about the nba as far as how trades work (the Garnett trade made no sense to me) but I can't seem to find anything out there that talks about where it is rumored that kobe would go
so i'm going to just blurt out a name
da bulls
i think heinrich or whatever his name is, and a pick and or x no name player would be a good deal for both sides
opinions?

I hope the NJ Nets but that will never happen.
I think he ends up in Chicago if not it will defiantly be a Eastern conference team. They will do with him like they did with Shaq, they will not want him to be in a team in the West that will play them 4 or 5 times a year or a team that can knock them out of the playoffs.

Bulls is a good choice, got some young guys they can deal. Lakers will make sure he's sent to the East.

The whole situation pisses me off. First Buss chooses Kobe over Shaq and in the process breaks apart a team that could still be winning championships. Then after he trades Shaq for not even a penny on the dollar he decides its time to deal Kobe as well. In my opinion Kobe is the second best player talent-wise to ever play the game, behind Jordan. I know a million people could argue this but if you watch the man play enough you can see the rare type of talent he posses. Then instead of pulling the trigger on Kidd last year or K.G. in the offseason, when all he really had to do was deal Bynum and the Lakers could have been contenders again, Buss thinks its smart to now listen to offers for Kobe rather then make offers that could help Kobe. Great job turning the Lakers into a joke Dr. Buss, stick to playing poker.

This would be a good trade for both (only if the nets threw in a draft pick and another player)
But I love Vinsanity.

:king:
I heard he was going to Clev today straight up for labron. Thie is a no brainer for Clev. Labron is 22 and Kobe is 29 but kobe is so much better then labron. Labron is a marketed player that has a ton of talent but isnt as good as they "TRY" to make him. He is not the next Jordan Kobe is the closest to Jordan then any player has been. Labron has also lost some fan support because of the yankee situation. My opinion is he should be able to root for any team he wants and wear any hat he wants. But the Clev fans were offended and thought he was sitting in their face by wearing the hat to the game. Some Clev players said it too.
Kobe for LeBron would be a no-brainer for LA...but Cleveland would be damaged permanently on that one. LeBron is a "local-boy done good" in Cleveland and you can't account for the value of that alone...much less his on-the-court talents. No way would I make that deal.
However I would definitely agree with the sentiment that Buss would only trade Kobe to the Eastern Conference. Now as I understand the cap, the players returning would have to have a cap value within 10% of Kobe's salary. The Lakers will most likely want 1 rising star/star + a combo of 2 rising players/#1 picks.
Who can offer that type of package?

in my opinion, nobody. but the bulls come close. it's become apparent Kobe's number 1 destination, where he wants to go, is Dallas. In that case I'd take Dirk for Kobe, but i dont see that move making a lot of sense for Dallas or the Lakers because I think it makes Dallas less good and for the Lakers it keeps Kobe in the West where he has a chance to beat them. I have no clue where he's gonna end up, but when the dust is settled the Lakers will be the most hurt in all of this.

Washington Generals, I think a player like Kobe could really turn them around.
The rumor yesterday was Jason Terry, Josh Howard, and 2 future 1st round picks for Kobe. The Lakers also want a 4 for 1 trade if they trade with the Bulls and the Bulls don't want to give up Deng.
No matter what happens, the Lakers aren't getting equal value coming back if they trade him.

Going to the Bulls for Gordon, Ty Thomas, Nocioni, and 3 first rounders. Trade will happen mid-december when Nocioni can be traded. If not, replace Deng with nocioni, and make it 2 first rounders

In regards to what I put in bold.. feel good stories like that go away very quickly if a team is winning or losing.
I think Kobe is a better player than Lebron and would improve the cavs.

3 first rounders is kinda steep. I could see that deal being made without 1 first rounder.

The Bulls are probably the only team with the matching contracts and enough talent to land this deal
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine. (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine)
Check this out. This is a trade machine where you can choose guys for deals and it will tell you whether or not that would work with the cap situations. But it won't reject lobsided trades, so don't use it and get all excited, Knicks fans, it aint happening.
Tons of possibilities with the bulls where you could do Kobe to chicago involving heinrich and others or a kobe/odom for heinrich wallace and someone else like a gordon.

I wonder if the Wizards would be a player in this. Mr. 0 says he is going to opt out of his contract--they could ship him back home out west. Plus they have traded recently, with the Kwame trade (although that might be enough to discourage it...)

Agent Zero said he is opting out but that he wants to stay in Washington 100% and has no means of leaving at all, he just wants to be paid a fair price compared to other players of his standard.

Man, I hope not. I've been a Bulls fan since Artis Gilmore made the lane his own. I'd put all my Bulls gear in the closet if they traded for that rapist. I just don't want him.
I'd rather not win a championship with guys I can root for like Deng, Heinrich and Gordon. And, Kobe could NEVER never ever ever fill Michael's shoes, ever. I think he's the ARod of basketball. A loser.

He's also just a strange dude. The story is when choosing between Washington and the Clippers as a free agent, he flipped a coin 10 times and it came up Clippers 7 out of 10. So he signed with Washington.

Personally I'd like him to go to Memphis and push them deep into the playoffs, but my gut tells me he might go to Philly. He was born there and his dad was a 76'er. I know they booed him when he won the all star MVP a few years back, but that's just Philly. It's in the east, so there's no conference conflict, and Philly doesn't really have anything else going for them. The only incompatibility is that the 76'ers without Kobe are worse than the Lakers without Kobe and he wants to win a championship.

dude, he's not going to Philly. he wants to go to a contender, Philly certainly isn't that. Plus like you mentioned, Philly hates Kobe. theres absolutely zero chance he winds up there. plus, what could Philly even offer the Lakers?

the only players i would want from Philly are Korver and Iggy
they could do some weird ass Korver, Iggy and Andre Miller for Kobe but again no team should give up 3 players for 1

I'm not saying that Kobe isn't a great player. He is- although I could argue that he isn't any more that the 3rd best player in the NBA today (Nash and Duncan) - but I still don't want him.
And if he went to Chicago the talk would completely be about how he isn't MJ. You have to understand Chicago - they get incredibly, obnoxiously attached to their stars, and MJ was the biggest one of them all. There's NOTHING Kobe could do that the average Bulls fan hasn't seen done better by MJ. It's way too soon for another guy like that in Chicago.

Good point about stars in NY.
Too bad the Knicks haven't had a star since Bernard King.
