Every single game this series the umps have made at least one horrible call that had greatly impacted the game and tonight's is the worst. This game shouldn't be tied.

I'd love to see a rundown/study evaluating the ratio of end of the world movies linked to political parties in the office of president. It's unreal how many have been out there since W has been in power (I mean Cheney).

Eh, it happens. The ump happened to be in THE worst spot for that play and couldn't see when the ball in Howard's bare hand. He basically had to guess in a split second based on how fast the runner was going and the throw as to where Howard's hand was. That's baseball. In the end, the guy has to get all the way around from 1st to score, so it's not like that play was a gimme that cheaped in a run.

Thanks, they replayed it and yes it was a bad call. Would that have resulted in no runs being plated, or just one? Give me some context for the inning overall. Bottom line, it was a close call, but yes a WS crew should get it right. However, it's still tied and anyone's game. If the Phils win this one, they have this thing wrapped up. That's for you Ronnie B!

I'm with you here. I don't hate any team in the WS this time, but I refuse to root for a team in my division even if it isn't one of the big two. I pretty much go the other way and almost NEVER root for my team's league. I'd rather see a team on the other side of the fence win versus one in my back yard that I often face.

Go Phills. I'll root for any NL team that isn't the Dodgers.
What a fantastic game!
Carlos Ruiz is the WS MVP for the Phils up to this point.
Tomorrow is huge. Sonnastine vs. Blanton has to be pretty much a toss-up (Sonnastine's a little bit better, but the Phillies are unbeaten at home in the playoffs).
If the Phils get that one, they'll have a shot to close it out with Hamels without going back to Tampa.

Phillies in 5, the trends say soo
damn u Phillies, congrats
Pitching coaches around the league should pull the tape of tonight's game and teacher a seminar to their staffs on it.
Jamie Moyer employed some of the best pitching psychology I've ever seen in tonight's game.
He's always been very good at that. But he was extra good tonight.
I mean, make no mistake...Moyer's 'stuff' is absolute garbage, if you rate it on the Scout scale.
He has about the worst fastball you can have and be a Major League starter. His changeup was great once upon a time. It's diminished slightly.
But this guy calls an amazing game. He made guys like Iwamura and Pena look foolish at the plate.

There is definitely a shot for this to happen, but I'm sticking to my Phils in 6 stance. I think the Phils will lose one of the next two, probably tomorrow as Blanton is up and down at best.

I only don't root for a team from my divsion if there's a hardcore rivalry, so I'd NEVER root for the Cardinals. Other than that...meh...there's no real drawn out history. I'd root for the Reds, Pirates or Brewers over the AL team always. I do really hate the Astros mostly due to their cheesy ballpark, but I had to default root for them in 2005 because they were playing the White Sox.
So, yeah, the Marlins and Phillies are technically in the same division, but is there any REAL rivalry between the teams a la the Phils and the Mets? Plus, the Rays and Marlins are supposed to be rivals, too.

The NL East these days is basically tantamount to everyone hates the Mets.
After that, there may be a little bit of juice for something like Phils/Braves, but not much else.
I can't say I really hate the Marlins (except for Scott Olsen). And I was hoping they'd win in '97 and '03.

They won't let you into McFadden's without a World Series ticket.
There was a guy standing outside of it when I was walking into the stadium tonight screaming through a bullhorn "I CANNOT BE BRIBED TO LET YOU IN! YOU NEED A TICKET!"
They're playing the games on the big screen where the band plays during the block party. I might watch it there tomorrow night.
Sadly, I cannot find a ticket.
But tonight was the most fun I've ever had at a baseball game. Unfuckingbelievable.

I noticed the crowd and the dugout was content and holding back from freakin' out. Later in the game it was hard to do it, but it is almost like a dream or just waiting for God to bring the thunder down on us. Whatev.
I thought Eva was gonna cry at the end of the game. He is pathetic this series.
Also, that there shift on Utley won't work if they can't field.
Oh, ya know how earlier in the thread I complained about my old rich bitch friend? She ended up getting a chance to go to the game on Saturday. Her mommy dearest bought her tickets to the game, Section 110, Row1, four seats for her hippie worthless boyfriend from New York. They ended up leaving early, because she was cold and tired. Makes me sick. She left the game early last night too, because her "limo" back to Manhattan from the Bank was arriving. lolz. Not really a friend anymore.

2 2 1 1 1 is only good for hockey and bassketball. It makes no sense in baseball, cause you play 2-4 games at a time in each place. Its not the same as hockey or basketball.

No it doesn't.
The Phillies were down 3-2 in that series, Toronto was clearly the better team, and the Phillies would have had to win two at the Skydome to win.
AND, everyone knew Mitch Williams had nothing left. Real Phillies fans are more pissed at Jim Fregosi for even using him in that spot, when Mitch basically told the media he had nothing.
I like the '93 Phillies a lot, but that was as 'lightning in a bottle' as a team can get.

I know it means nothing now that the game is tied, but the guy who said the rules for a game being official are different in the playoffs is wrong. It can only be "suspended" if the score is tied, in which case it is resumed at another time where play was suspended. They would not "suspend" a game if one team is winning. If it couldn't be resumed that night, the team that is leading when the rain delay is called would be the winner.
I know this is so 'cuz Tim McCarver just said so.
