I'm a proud wii owner and really excited for this game. I never played the original one but I've read that it was a well established game on the gamecube that got great reviews. I particularly love the look and from the videos the style and gameplay look like something i could definitely get into. Plus this game has online Multiplayer! How can you not be excited about that?
