Anyone else watch this Wednesday night? It was such a fun little show. Very British, but quite delightful. I think this may be the only new show I stick with this year.

I gotta say I dig it too. Got the Carnevale renewing life must end another thing, but with the twist. Obviously it is visually awesome. It's reminding me of something I've seen before but I can't put my finger on it...WAIT, I just did. Call me crazy, but it's got the vibe of the movie Matilda (which I happen to love, shoot me), including the voiceover deal.

I only watched the one episode I downloaded thru tivo. If I hear good things, I'll download eps and catch up. Bionic Woman, on the other hand, I'm completely and utterly done with.
And the narrator is Jim Dale, who does the Harry Potter audiobooks. I listened to one (I think 3rd book) and he did an excellent job.

kinda reminds me of a Big Fish-type Tim Burton cornicopia of visual coolness. Also, the dialogue is really quirky and interesting. Pretty awesome show. Can't wait to see other episodes.

Loved it. I haven't followed a TV show in years; this may be the first one I'll tune in to every week.
I'll watch the replay tonight, our DVR cut off the first 5 minutes.

Loved it.
AyKay already mentioned that it has a BIG FISH vibe to it. I second that.
Visually, it's not unlike the ADDAMS FAMILY movie... which makes total sense... Barry Sonnenfeld directed both of 'em. He was also was the LEMONY SNICKET exec producer, Pushing Daisies has a similiar feel to that movie as well.
I loved the whole damn thang. Very cool vibe.

I normally don't check out new shows or watch much of anything on network tv besides some of the reality shows, but I saw the commercial for this show and it looked interesting. I am glad I watched it cause it is now one of my favorite shows. I am glad I have a dvr cause it does come on the same time as Kid Nation

I love the picture that's on the pie delivery box. The guy with the Snidely Whiplash moustache eating a nice slice of pie. Hilariously classy.

The Pooh Bear references.

I was kind of nervous after episode 2 if the show would be more cutesy or more smart/weird. Luckily episode three was the latter. Really good episode last night. The narrator still explains things slightly less than Opie does but overall I'm impressed.

it seems that there is a slight recap for every episode but I think that's only done for new viewer that hear word of mouth.
I think ABC kinda said it was a forensic fairytale but it just feels like a funny fairy tale.

The point is that it's very fairytale, so there's a narrator. The narrator is a character in most fairytales and it just adds a quirk to it. Like when the pieman and chuck look at each other all goofy eyed and the narrator gives it some description is just fun.

Slight thing that's been bugging me -- I thought on the premiere that the pieman learned that he could bring the dead back when he touched his dog after he was hit by a car, but he didn't find out that the second touch would kill until he took his mother out accidentally. Isn't it a little hard to believe that a young boy wouldn't touch, pet or hug his dog some time in at least the next few hours after bringing it back to life? I know. It's incredibly minor, but it got stuck in my head.

i got the first season this week & finally got to watch the pilot. i loved it. i love lee pace. he's just fantastic in anything he's in. i think the thing about the dog made sense to me because i'm guessing he was a little freaked out by the fact that he just brought his dog back to life so he didn't want to touch it at all after that. then since i guess he figured out the rules that very same day with his mom he knew not to touch the dog.
i'll probably finish up the first season by the weekend. the show is just really really beautiful to look at aside from just being a fun little script. it's kind of funny that lee pace is usually involved in things that are really artful or visually stimulating. the fall just came out on dvd yesterday & that just looks like one the prettiest movie ever. (like when dreams may come).

How about "Disney cum?" Two words, but I think it works.
But, to tell the truth, I enjoy it, it's original, simple, no baggage of extended storylines. I sometimes cringe at some cheap sets, but otherwise, it's a good enough show.

Pushing Daisies creeps closer to cancellation
The facts are these: Things aren't looking good for our beloved Pushing Daisies. The ABC drama, once cherished as a breath of fresh air in another monotonous television season is now surrounded by the putrid stink of death. Production on the show's initial 13-episode order wraps up today, and guess what...ABC still hasn't ordered more from the Pushing Daisies producers.
According to TVWeek.com, ABC spokespeople have stated that no decision has been made yet on Pushing Daisies, but all signs point to "see ya, wouldn't want to be ya!"
Ratings for Pushing Daisies have declined dramatically from its debut season, despite the fact that the quality of season two seems to be on par with season one. Many blame the writers' strike, which shortened season one and left ABC to decide between bringing the show back for a few episodes late last year, or take a break and bring it back full-force for a reintroduction this season. ABC chose the latter, and it's believed that the plan backfired.
So what's the plan if Pushing Daisies is canceled? Well, it's good news for Heroes, oddly enough. The incredibly talented creator of Pushing Daisies, Bryan Fuller, told EW.com that he would be open to returning to Heroes, where he worked on season one (not coincidentally the show's finest season by far).
"I am exclusive to Daisies through the delivery of the 13th episode of our 13-episode order, which will be mid-January," Fuller told EW.com. "If Daisies isn't picked up by then, I will definitely be going back to play with my friends at Heroes."
Fuller also said that should Pushing Daisies get wiped off the face of television, he would like to finish the story in graphic novel form. Just keep the bright colors and witty dialogue, please, and let Chuck and Ned get it on for Pete's sake!

I think I will just stop watching TV...I can't spend my time getting involved in a show anymore only to have it yanked before we get to any conclusion.
I would be very disappointed if this goes. It is different (and witty) and that's a good thing.

Damn. I'm really annoyed by this. I really think "Pushing Daisies" is a great show. Such a change of pace from everything else.
I like "Dirty Sexy Money," too, but it won't bother me like "Daisies" will.
That freakin' writers' strike ruined so much TV.
And, apparently ABC is rubbing salt in the wound by "reinventing" one of my all-time favorite quick-cancelled shows, "Cupid." The original had Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall, and was great.
OK, I'm still watching.
and I admit I love all of Kristen Chenoweth's cleavage shots.

I finally caught last week's episode just before tonight's and I agree he is a big time creep, but I think she was trying to be protecting of his behavior, not wanting to see the truth.
I enjoyed tonight's show, I really thought they were going to tell Olive the entire truth at one point.
The little swerve at the end was expected but still interesting, so sad this show is going away.
Anytime a show is not the regular old cookie cutter crap, it really needs a network that is going to stick with it, and most never do.

Take Pushing Daisies. Bryan Fuller's whimsical drama was probably last season's most polarising show. For every viewer who loved its over-stylised sets and kooky plot lines, there was another who found it saccharine or condemned it as Amelie-lite. Yet love or hate it, Pushing Daisies, while admittedly costly to make, was at least genuinely unusual television. Fuller's world was lovingly imagined, beautifully acted and quite unlike anything else out there.
And that was part of the problem – it would appear that increasingly both network bosses and viewers would prefer comfort television to more challenging fare. Far better to be CBS with The Mentalist, which, while competently done, is yet another psychic cop drama, than to be ABC with Pushing Daisies, a show with a fervent audience certainly but also a small one.
absolutely. In ye olden days, the excuse was that there were only 3 networks; today there are many outlets- I don't see why cable channels try and work a deal.

I loved the first season and I like the second a lot. Ned and Chuck's love for each other is getting on my nerves. As said before, Charles Charles (Corpse Face) is a creep. Everyone else on the show is great.
Olive is much hotter than Chuck. And that's before you consider the cleavage.
And speaking of cleavage: am I way out of line for thinking Vivian is hot? (She's the one with 2 eyes right?) She is older but I dig her.
Sorry to see the show canceled (or not picked up for more episodes, whatever it is technically) other that how lame it get's when Ned and Chuck express their love the show is excellent!

Just a heads up, they began airing the last 3 episodes of the series last night. They will air every Saturday at 10 on ABC for, well, the next 2 weeks now.
There will be no narrative conclusion I hear. But a couple more episodes to enjoy anyway.
