I'm so glad ESPN sent Chris Berman to anchor the World Series coverage for SportsCenter. Nothing is officially overexposed until Chris Berman shows up.

I love how every year Karl Ravich does the Baseball Tonight and big game coverage all year until the World Series or All-Star game, then he gets shoved aside so Chris "I've never been funny and there was a talking horse that said Wil-" Berman can cover the games.

Is there anyone who finds him entertaining still?

Sox have been doing it for years now. Fans sing along during the 7th inning stretch. When Diamond played Fenway in 04 the fans started cheering "Lets Go Red Sox" during it.

Here :

The tradition began when Amy Tobey, the club's musical coordinator at that time, started playing it in 1998 because she had heard it played at other sporting events [2] [3] . Tobey continued to play it (usually in the middle of the 8th inning) when the team was winning and she felt the Red Sox would win.[4] In 2002, new owner John W. Henry requested that the song be played at every home game. The sing-along gained fame in a sequence of the 2005 movie Fever Pitch.

I thought it was annoying until I was wasted at a game, and then it was the greatest thing ever.

i get your sarcasm and love it. I cant stand Berman anymore. I used to like him and found his nicknames funny (10 years ago). Now he is boring, his voice gets reaspy after 10 minutes, his nicknames suck and are played out and most of all he kisses every players ass. With his gargle, raspy , repeating voice.

I have always hated that song and to have it become an "anthem" at Fenway gives me the same douche chills that I get when I hear "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" at Camden Yards. The only song that should ever be played at Fenway is "Dirty Water".

They even play "YMCA" at Wrigley now, which still infuriates me whenever I hear it. And within the last decade they started blasting music during the commercial breaks, and it's awful. Doesn't help that their sound system is ancient and only designed for speaking or the organ, so their options are either too quiet or ear-bleedingly loud. Guess which one they pick?

Goddamn, this is a slaughter. I really thought the Rockies were going to handily beat whoever they played in the WS, but doubt started to creep in when it looked like the Red Sox were gong to make it on the back of an amazing comeback. Then that comeback turned into a completely dominating comeback and it suddenly seemed like the Rockies' fate was sealed before the series even began.

MVP is a tough call. There are 4-5 guys who could be considered. I say Lowell edges Ellsbury.

I never thought I'd find a plastic surgery disaster interviewing a bunch of old white guys congratulating each other interesting.

Playing Pearl Jam's "Better Man" after presenting the MVP trophy -- do these people not look up lyrics?

Can you even IMAGINE what this Rockies team must feel like? They must have honestly FORGOTTEN what losing feels like. In over a month, they've lost ONCE! They ONLY know winning right now. The thought of a loss is incomprehensible.

Too bad they're gonna be harshly reminded when they get destroyed in the World Series.

And then the Cardinals did nothing but win IN the playoffs. And as opposed to the Yankees, the Rockies have yet to give up a loss. The Red Sox are the best match up of the two AL teams, but to think they're just going to walk all over the Rockies is basically completely removing yourself from reality.
Believe me... I didn't WANT to be right.

Believe me... I didn't WANT to be right.

I already posted during the Red Sox' last series that the way they were winning it was shaping up for them to get on a roll and win the whole thing. If they or the Indians had just won it in a "normal" 5 or 6 game series, I think things would have been different. The Sox just got an amazing roll with that comeback and never slowed down. So, in short, I already took my back my original prediction before the WS even started.

Thanks, I didn't think anybody noticed my defense. It was a tough series, but we pulled through!

well the looked like champs for most of the season, and the 2nd half of the post season. just goes to show you how great pitching really means more than great hitting. they had a solid staff with a great 3 starters, and then a solid relief core.

and having manny and big pappi doesn't hurt either

Much like last year's champs, this team came very close to blowing a huge division lead in the last week of the season.

Congrats anyway.

Well, all thats left is another Red Sox Championship parade that I cant attend.
and then,

baseball season will be over.

then, i guess football starts..or is it hockey and basketball? I dunno.

I'm lost without baseball. Its gonna be a long hard winter (i know, "ew").
but my new Boston Red Sox 2007 World Series Champions sweatshirt that I just ordered will keep me warm til spring.

I really do loathe the off season.

The baseball Playoffs, got in the way of Football

I think the NFL should play a game when the World Series is on

I bet it would have got better ratings

How about Phillies fans???

You are right, for the first time since those late 90's Yankee clubs ( I guess one could argue the 2005 Whitesox, I though St Louis was better that year) that the best team has won.

What the hell? I rooted for you guys to win it in 2004 as a kind of "brothers in suffering" deal and you randomly drop this on us?

You guys have changed, man.
