Billick said Monday that the Jets' defense shouted out signals to intentionally throw off the Baltimore offense. Billick claimed the tactic led to the three illegal procedure penalties against the Ravens.

I need a ruling on this from the NFL rulebook, because I never knew this was against the rules. And maybe if Billick's team wasn't full of felons they wouldn't get penalized so much.

even if this is true, this is a blatant offense that the officials should be able to hear
if they missed it, it must have not been that bad. when you watch the game you hear the QB, so would't it make sense you would also hear any cheating going on

Like Dark Hippie stated. Its a 5 yars penalty. If Bilick had such an issue he could have told the ref to watch out for it and call the 5 yard penalty. He never mentioned it during the game, but made it a point to tell the media. That was a favor for his buddy Bill. I anticipate more friends of Belicheck to call the Jets out on things.

how is this cheating?
on D, you can do almost do anything you want, including jumping offsides, as long as you are on your side of the neutral zone when the ball is snapped.

as a guard/tackle/tight end, you move when the ball moves. you are not allowed to move once you set (although, they do it in the nfl..)

i call this whining and feel he should have his nuts tasered.
