It will be one year this Wednesday one of the most heroic figures of our generation was born. In a case of gallant unequivocal courage Ron Bennington was exiting a cab on the upper east side when he spotted a shinny object on the mirky city street. Not only did Ron not ignore the item, he bent over, risking grave back injury, and picked up the device. The contraption a cell phone. While Mr Bennington could have easily discarded the handset in the next trash receptacle he saw, he didn't. Ron flipped open the phone and against all odds contacted the owner of the phone. Within hours the owner had retrieved his equipment and was offering Mr B two sawbucks. Mr B the gracious human being he is did not take the cash. He merely laughed at this ham and egger knowing in his heart he had boldly gone where few before in the history of man had gone. Mr Bennington we will never forget your bravery and sacrifice that great day! We salute you.

I disagree my fine sir, Mr. B's heroics were not born that day, they just merely surfaced.
He always had it in him.
Did Clarke Kent's ability to fly birth that epic day? No, it was always there waiting to be released.
Mr. B was always a hero, and for that, I am forever greatful.

Actually you make a good point.
How is one to react?
My thoughts are, if you're not sure what to do, the best bet is to log off and go away.

See, this is what the cake and cigars on Friday should have been for.
(and yes, Mikey, I'm kidding. All of you did a very nice thing. No need to get all Paul Kersey with your infractions)

on 9-11 he was heroic in saving his kids and then doing a Radio show where we could all speak to each other and know we were going to be ok.
