or better yet who was Joe Poo? If this is some laugh invoking stupid question, I can live with that, but let me in on the joke.

Joe in fact did exist. He worked for the show for a time, and then left the show, but he wasn't really discussed that much again.
I honestly thing Spazz is to O&A what Joe Poo was to R&F. Lots of good bits, lots of big laughs, and a controversial exit shrouded in mystery.
It's best not to tamper with the legend.

what a shame, I've been listening to a bunch of old shows and the guy seemed to have a future. No doubt, like we all have at some point, he sabatoged himself. Hope things are going well for him now.

i never really thought he was all that great. he did have some funny bits (harry potter was great) but i thought the bad outweighed the good. he was funny as a caller.

joe poo was funny.
i remember that one show ron said his throat hurt, and they made poo do all the live reads.....
and he knocked out al dukes...
AND his call ins were hillarious, i remember one time ron was talking to him...and i was thinking god this sounds like joe poo....only to hear "and i eat my own pooooo" heh
i eat my own poo, my own poo i eat, yeah...
he was just as weird as the rest of the producers though, and had the same hang ups with women......
what ever happened to hawk would be my question, that non pooping for five day maniac.

He was at the Christmas party. Doing well, from what I could tell.

Hawk is now E-rock on the O and A show. Its been an intersting callback when E-Rock gets to throw out "facts" as we all remember and love the old school "hawk facts".
My big question is, where is the Horde King?

No, that's a different Hawk. R&F's Hawk is/was? at Sirius.

I listened last week to an old show where Rory and Hawk did the power hour and needless to say hilarity insued. But what struck me the most was that even though these guys were mixing in a tequila shot every tenth shot, and even if Hawk lost by puking right after shot 60, neither one of these guys sounded half as lit as ESD did after his 45th shot of beer, I guess men were men in the old days.

yeah, i really didnt think erock was hawk.
rory and hawk were drinkers, i remember hawk getting a ticket or something for drinking on the subway.
its strange how all of R&F's producers seem to fit a passive aggressive mold, al, wonderboy, joe po, and earl, the only exceptions seem to be rory and the part timer jdubbbs......

It totally agree. There's a definite progression from Wonderboy to ESD.
However, I've noticed from the file library that WJFK had some producers that broke the mold. Giant Brian stood up for himself and seemed to let criticism roll of his back. Keisha was completely different than the usual producer. She was almost like an intern/lackey. That was back in the day when bit=game show.

There was no mystery to Spaz's quitting. It all played out on air.

Just the sound of Joe Poo's voice makes me laugh. He was a such a misogynist, bitter, little prick but I loved him. That Thunder cats clip was the best. I definitely miss Joe Poo. And Jan Brady for that matter.

One of the best ofs had Joe Poo as a caller, and Ron(and later Fez) really dissed him and ridiculed his poo bit as never funny. I assume that was after his producing stint and the break up wasn't too cordial, as it's the first time I ever herad Ronnie really get after one of the old crew when they called in. Personally, I loved the guy and could never get enough of him eating his own poo, or Al is gay.

A few months back Fez briefly talked about Joe and how he tried to help him develop his on air character but Joe didn't want to put in the work.

If you didn't take Toddy Boy's advice on how to develop an on air character, you're a massive tool.
That's like becoming a new Pope and not taking pointers from John Paul the 2nd.
