I've been thinking about it and is telling children about santa a good or bad thing? I thik it's bad.
Telling them about Santa means you are lying to them and when you finally do tell them that 'Santa' isn't real it disillusions them making them not trust what you say.
Santa teaches you not to appreciate your parents because some fantasy figure is the one that gets you the toys, not your parents. so later in life when your parents accuse you of not appreciate what you do for them, they started it with Santa.
Santa doesn't teach any good values. He teaches Greed. Only be good for the purpose of presents. He also teaches to let other people do your dirty work while you sit fat and happy.

Interesting IkeaBoy.
He knows if you've been bad or good, he watches while you sleep...
Santa = Satan or GOD? Santa is a dichotomy in himself.
IkeaBoy... Santa must be the devil!
Stop spreading lies people!

Leave Santa Alone!!!!
He is a good man! Hell, didn't he end the war in Viet Nam? Doen't he work tirelessly to find a cure for cancer? Doesn't he give of himself whenever a B-52 flies over Afghanistan?
Be thankful for Santa!!

Doesn't Michael Jackson put on a Santa suit and go undercover at Macy's every year, just to get lapdances? It's people like him that foul the reputation of such a cultural icon. Besides, I really met Santa when he arrived on his UFO just before thems Heaven's Gate people killed themselves. He thought they were silly.

i've got to go with ikeaboy on this one. the thing that disturbs me about the whole santa myth is that children are encouraged to be good in order to get rewarded with presents. it's an easy way for parents to get their children to behave without getting the children to appreciate the reasons, other than reward, why they should be good. now, i realize that most kids end up learning to behave, and continue to do so long after they learn the truth about santa, but i think it just gives children the wrong impression of how things should work
i'm sorry.. am i totally missing the point of christmas for little kids?
