Dream Team Battle

As per discussed on the show today, i think it's a great debate. This year's USA Basketball Team looks very good. Between Kobe, LeBron and 'Melo all the way to the great bench players this team really has it all. They've absolutely dominated their competition and it's clear cut this team is winning the gold in the olympics. So here's the question.......which USA Basketball team is better? The original 1992 Dream Team or this current group of guys?

Great Topic, I mean i feel that this years team is better then 92...East side dave is actually right by saying barkley was overwight and jordan was in his prime, but he was wrong for saying this years team needs big men! When you have Kobe, Lebron, and Carmello, you dont need a fucking Big Man. Lebron or Carmello can take that role any day. Plus we have great point guards like kidd and parker!

Dwight Howard and Amare Stodamire are excellent big men in my opinion, especially for the international game. I think it's crazy to say you need big men on that team

Colanego has stated that the starting five from the TOA will remain which was:

Kidd, Kobe, Bron, Melo and Dwight

2 more spots to Wade and Bosh

Redd will be in cause we need a shooter, and of course Amare cause he is Amare.

then we need another PG which is a toss up between CP3, Deron, Billups and Hinrich.

Most likely Battier and Brand (who missed TOA because of injuries but stated he wants on the team)

Edit: Mike Miller will also most likely get on the team since his TOA play was great

I would take Deron over him in a second, and then CP3 then Hinrich then billups.

Billups is up there in age and has alot of nagging inuries, and he is more of shooting guard then an actually point.

Deron has been so amazing and CP3 is probably the best pure point guard besides Kidd.

Go back and watch Wade in the 2004 Olympics. He was horrible. He was totally playing 1on1 ball against teams playing team defense. He will need to learn how to play team ball (just like all US players need to do.) The NBA isolation crap fails against the team ball the international teams are playing

well i think coach K has been drilling TEAM into their heads and i think there playing team ball, thats why there blowing out these teams!

I think they need a shooting guard like Billups because you have kidd and wade who love to handle the ball! I agree about the age part but idk its still a hard decision!

Wade is not a PG though and does not know how to distribute the ball.
Wade is the same type of player as Kobe and Bron and both Kobe and Bron handle and dish the ball ten times better then wade does.

Billups did not have more then 4 assists in one game during the TOA while Deron has 7 in one in only 10 minutes of play. Plus Billups really looks for a shot first before being a pure PG, which is what this team needs.

We have shooters with Kobe, Redd, Miller if he makes it. and of course Bron and Wade can get into shooting grooves.

Even though Wade needs improvement, he still is going to carry the ball and he wont change overnight lol!

Kidd I hate because He is a Net, but for USA, He is gr8 Point Guard, Just DOnt Shoot the Rock

Melo Gr8 Player, but can be caught up in Trying to be "Cool" We cant have that now the Foreign Teams have Stepped it up

Dwight: Powerhouse, Cant wait to see the Dunks and Blocks he has

Kobe: He is Gr8, but is he olympic Gr8, or Selfish Gr8

Billups Gr8 Shooter, but he is getting up there with Age

Deron: Should Start if Kidd starts to fade at his old Age
Redd Superstar, but Strsky, need to hit your shots, the Foreign Teams have gr8 Shooting %s

Prince Gr8 Defense Good Offense, a Perfect Fit
Amare Hope he Performs as good with Nash
Miller Good Player, Dont know alot about him
