I have an iPod mini that's two years old. I really want to update. This looks pretty cool.

Yeah, I need to update mine too, and that looks cool.
It does seem pretty likely that the announcement of a new IPod model is coming very soon; I've heard some time next week. I don't know if that's it or not, but it does sound like some of the rumors I've seen of what the next IPod will be.

I have a 4th generation 20GB iPod and it's more than I need.

Perfect timing - I'm about 5 gigs short of filling Ipod #2 (60g; #1 is a 40g).
I've read some of the rumors - bigger hard drive (possibly up to 160g); higher capacity flash versions; more video features; possibly even a Mac operating system and wifi.

Maybe this one will have aftermarket accessories that aren't quivering piles of disintegrating leprosy colony sewage remnants.

From what I read, it is going to be a Nano-WideScreen. Who knows though... I'm waiting for iPhone 2.0

My friend got an I-Phone he was not that computer savy, tried hooking it up & returned it 1 hr later. I thought it was funny.

The new iPod announcement is supposed to be tomorrow. My iPod's hard drive died months ago, so I may be picking one of these up once they are announced tomorrow.

Wow, They have a new Video Nano ipod (4 and 8 GB, $150 and $200)
an "iPod Classic" (80 and 160 GB, $250 and $250) No more White Ipod available
a new WiFi "iPod touch" (8 and 16 GB, $300 and $400: looks like the iPhone)
and they lowered the price on the iPhone (8GB for $400: looks like they dropped the 4GB and the 8GB is less than the 4GB was!)
Louis CK said something about the iPhone being the best iPod ever. Now you can buy it without the crappy phone*. And if you are in a WiFi area you can still surf the web and buy iTunes music directly from it. Throw out your PC/Mac!
*I happen to use AT&T and am very happy with my service, but I don't live in the NY/NJ area so I can't speak for AT&T there.

The IpodTouch looks pretty cool. (http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/) Too bad it tops out at 16Gb. I'm sure they'll eventually have them with bigger drives (60+ Gb). I'm hoping my current model hold out until that time.

Also, they added video to the Nano and increased the size of the hard drives and dropped the prices (http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/), so that's a pretty good budget option for those interested.

my bro still has his first gen, and it rocks- never had a problem.
i have a clickwheel- im on my 3rd in 2 years, and its just about dead. apple has told me there is nothing further they can do for me. ( still bitter over this )
its odd to me that they would bump up the capacity to 160gb- my desktop only has 200gb.
im guessing that people are into movies on the pods now.
i dont know why they wouldnt dump money into a higher capacity flash memory version, rather than still using a hd in them.
and now they can go wireless? im sure thats going to eat up a ton of battery power, requiring more battery recharges, and thus more battery replacment.
ok, i'll shut up now.

16 gigs, that's just enough to fit my tom waits collection.
I'll wait till they stick some real storage in that bitch.

Flash memory costs about 10x as much per gigabyte as hard drives. also, you can't just get a 64 GB flash chip, you have to group a bunch of smaller chips together, so the units would be bigger in some way.
Hard drives experience density increases all the time, so the same size drive holds twice as much data. It would be impossible to keep making classic models with similar capacities over the years.

What was there to "hook up".. did I miss out on something?
All I did was plug it in and they pretty much gave you the rest.
(I love my iphone.)

My 40g and 60g's are full...it's time for a 160g! Especially since it costs the same as the older 80g.

The iPod touch looks awesome, as does the nano video. But yeah, I'm going to wait until there's some serious storage space in there...at least 60-80 gigs!

I love the IPod Touch, but Im already on AT&T Wireless, and the IPhone is the same price as the 16GB one now, so I'm thinking that's the direction I'll go.
And you better bet that I'll be showing that bitch off everywhere I go.

We should all get them. We could ask Apple to make a special ronfez.net model, with "It Don't Make You a Bad Person" engraved on the back.

I'm tempted to get an iPod touch. I have a 4gig first gen nano right now, my 40gig 4th gen iPod died. My prob is the space issue. The Classic has 160gig for less money, but the touch is just cooler.

I picked up one of these on Monday. I love it. The best feature has nothing to do with music, its the WiFi+Full version of safari. I do wish it had a little more space, but 16 gigs is enough for what I need, I just can't be lazy and sync my entire music library at one time. And it just looks fucking cool. I can't stop playing with this thing.

I got one on Sept 14. Gotta say I love it. Again, wish there was more than 16gig, but otherwise total coolness.
And I still need to find a case for it...

Well, I could understand when I bought my iPod because they kinda did a limited release on the 14th, but it was supposed to come out on the 28th, and the cases and whatnot are all third party, but this is getting to be a pain to juggle my things so nothing scratches the iPod.

iPod Touch Jailbreak! (http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/11/ipod-touch-now-running-mail-and-more/)
The hack came out yesterday, saw instructions this morning. Really looking forward to trying 3rd party apps on my iPod.

i have the ipod touch and the iphone. to be honest, the ipod touch does nothing but collect dust seeing as i already have my iphone on me at all times. i was offered a price i couldnt pass up for it though, 100 dollars, so i bought it anyways. the iphone was a little weird at first, but now that im used to it i love it. theres kind of a snobby stigma attached to it though.

I LOVE my new iPod. I bought it instead of the Classic or the iTouch because even though I have more music then will fit on the Nano, it has the Nike+ feature which really motivates me to walk and run more, and I despise exercising. Since I got it less then a month ago, I have exercised more in the past 3 weeks then I have in the past 5 years.
Clickey Clickey (http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/?token=D05DC64B-32FF-5A2F-5D3C-7E5453F66CC0) for my results. The software and the support from Nike is really cool.
