Holy fuck did I wish I could jump through a phone line and kick the living shit out of this "customer service rep" just now. Not only does dtv not have "on demand", we always have trouble with ppv and proceeded to sit on the phone trying to get it through for over a fucking hour with this dumb cunt. The only reason I sat that long was bc I had my laptop and work as I waited through the bullshit. Finally I ask for a supervisor and he's a sarcastic prick asking me if I want him to "turn back time" (bc I explained how much time I've been wasting) and acting as if it was my issue, not his! I literally fucking lost it and used every damn curse you could imagine and wished I could go to his office and fucking destroy him.
I'm serious on this. I couldn't even think straight I was sooo fucking in a rage that my girlfriend had to take the phone and hang it up. If this ever leaked it would be a hit to anyone who ever lost their mind dealing with big corporate bullshit and the peons they have working for them for shit wages. And trust me I was nothing but professional at first, until he fucking challenged me. These fucks couldn't find the channel, our customer file, our history, the time zone their computer was in (I had to figure it out for them!), hell fucking nothing came easy with these assholes! Holy shit! Can you be more idiotic? The sad thing is, I need the NFL package so I can't even quit without a hit. I've never been more angry with a company than I am right now. Oh and while we were on the first hold to get this asshole, they up and ordered every movie on the system for us. I can't wait to get that fixed. I'm sure my file will show up upfront next time. Fuck these cunts.

Comcast sucks balls............DirecTv is amazing. While On Demand is a very cool feature, it constantly stalls and has a connection timeout. I've had nothing but great experiences with DirecTv, Comcast reps barely speak English and just think that "increasing the signal strength" is the answer for everything

I would give anything to have DirecTV again. I miss it so much. Cable sucks, especially comcast, compared to DirecTV.
The best thing about DirecTV is not having to call them. Everything can be done on their website. Or so I thought. Why are you calling to have a movie on? Aren't there just options on the screen?

I like DTV for the simple fact that they have the Virus channel on 879 & you can listen to R&F otherwise cable is better with the ONDEMAND feature where else can you watch a whole season of a show in 1 night. I just watched the whole season of John From Cincinatti in 1 day. That is the greatness of cable compared to DTV. Ohh but DTV has DVR but it is not the same.:surrender::huh::lol::unsure::drunk::by e::smoke:

why are you paying extra for hbo or showtime on demand? I get both for free because I have hbo and showtime. I even get encore and stars on demand for free. Do you not have all 10 hbo's, showtimes etc?

I know this is supposed to be a thread bashing DirecTv, but I'd like to throw in one more reason why Comcast sucks ass. Once again (even though i've only been living here about 2 weeks) my cable is out. Today is the first big day of college football and Notre Dame plays at 3pm. I have no idea if I can watch the game now because for some strange reason none of the T.V.s are working in the apartment. On top of that Comcast internet has decided to tell MLB.tv that I should be blacked out of the Yankees/Tampa Bay game even though the game isn't on T.V. and I'm 2 and a half hours away from Tampa. So thank you comcast for blacking out the debut of Ian Kennedy and the start of the Fighting Irish football season, I really appreciate it. I should have gone golfing today

I just hooked up my normal antenna to the HD antenna and get HDTV. You'd be surprised how many channels there are, extra of the network channels you can only get with the broadcast antenna. I know that I don't get the pay channels, but some areas even have pay type programming over the antenna. It is available here in Podunk Utah. So it may be available in your area too! Trace

Sorry to hear about your Directv customer service problems. I've never had a problem with Directv. I even bought a DVR, which I thought I could hook up myself, and when I had problems the technical support went over with me how I did the install and figured I did it wrong, and two days later a guy came out and totally rewired my system, and installed a splitter box that took the signal from my dish, doubled it and reamplified the signal, and everything is great.
I've had Directv for about 4 years now, and my only complaint is that I can't get the Phillies on it unless they are on Channel 57 (UPN) on Sundays. Directv even gave me two weeks free the baseball package, but since the Phillies are a local team, the blackout takes effect, even though the "local" channel for the Phillies is exclusively on Comcast and I can't get it without being a Comcast subscriber. Which I will never be.
I just can't wait until the Verizon FIOS is down here. I already have a Verizon DSL line, phone line and cell service. I can't wait for the true Kwan to enter my home.

I took a look at my mother's bill and realized she has WAY more stuff than she needs for a 76 year old woman who mostly watches Fox News. I signed up to manage her service online, since she doesn't know how to use a computer. I've been trying to get to the part where you can change your programing, and nothing happens. Anyone know if this happens often, or do you think it's just a glitch that's going on right now.
Also... Can she remove some of her programing, or does she have to wait until her current contract expires. If she does have to wait, is there a way to find out when that is? She doesn't remember.

I suggest calling 1-800-DIRECTV for a long list of blow offs until you finally get a person to tell you exactly what u need to do when calling a different number which requires you to start right from scratch. Then that line will give you the first number and tell u THAT'S the number to call and you'll just go mad!
Seriously though, u should be able to do it online, but the site is garbage. Call the number and get someone to fix it all. Good luck.

I was affraid of that. I've had to call them a few times in the past for her. I had the same kind of runarounds. It got so bad that, when she'd call me to say her TV was messed up, I'd send my mooching nephew over there to help her.:wallbash:

I've always had to call DirecTV to remove programming. They only let you add programming online. They want it to be as difficult as possible to remove programming.

Wow i guess i'm in the minority, but i'm a huge fan of my directr tv. I had time warner cable b4 and they fucking blew. But i get all the premium channels for 99 a month on 5 tvs, and have a 98% signal strength. Plus i got the whole nfl package free for upgrading to the hd and dvr box.

I don't think she has any real complaints about DirecTV. She just has too many channels. I'm actually thinking about making a switch. With all the channels that I have right now, plus high speed internet, our monthly bill is around $155. If I keep the internet, and dump the TV for DirecTV (with approximately the same channels, it looks like the bill would drop down to around $115.
