If you haven't seen the Keynote Adress (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/specialevent07/) the first 12 minutes or so shows the new features and the make up of the product, some cool features and the reasoning behind them are interesting, especially how they configured the pricing of the new models. Too bad the OS X Leopard (http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/) isn't on these though.

these things came out almost 2 weeks ago.....
not much of achange, traded white for aluminum...processor upgrades of course..
i was hoping for a complete form change, i'd like to see where its going from here..
the whole laptop behind a monitor thing can only go so far.

It's actually thinner also. Plus the prices were slightly lowered.

new imacs aren't a bad machine..
just set up a new lab at the high school in the district i work at ... very good stuff...
not a fan of imovie '08... but all in all, the students are producing some good stuff and overall, i'd say a perfect machine if you aren't into upgrading.

Well, I finally upgraded from my old g4 to the new iMac. I'm still wondering how performance will be with the intel chips...
my question for the other mac users; what do i need to connect my old g4 to the internet wirelessly. I'm still keeping it as a back up, but the new g5 imac will be hooked up the the router directly.
do they make an airport that'll work with a g4?

Is it the g4 tower?
I have a g3 tower I use to host videos for my TV and I just needed the Airport card. So...assuming you have a wireless modem or a wireless router that card is all you need. If you need a wireless router I would suggest the standard: linksys w54g...unless you desperately need it to color-match. But it will cost considerably more.

Yeah. but I was going for "layered funny" - a Time Machine reference and a play on Guy Pierce's name.
OK, it was a stretch...
