Just picked this book up at Costco. I read Bayard's "Mr. Timothy" a few years back and really enjoyed it. It was a darkly humorous and seedy treatment of Dickens's Timothy Cratchit, all growed up in his twenties and living at a whorehouse teaching them to read. Whores die, and a conspiracy is revealed. I think Bayard did a successful job of updating the Dickensian London landscape for modern readers, and it is actually a Christmas tale much like the story that inspired it.
Anyone else read any of this Bayard?
