Hey, anyone who got into Top Gear on Discovery/Science Channel--it's back. And it's not the bastardized, cut-up American version that was on before. This is whole episodes like they play in England. Of course it's on BBC America, so I don't know if everybody gets that channel (I have DirecTV, so I get a lot of channels that the masses don't).
Monday nights--it's a car show, but they seem to destroy something every week. Love it.

Yes, love the show. Gearhead since day one. This show is enthusiastic for cars the way that a show/magazine should be. Instead of driving cars and reviewing their handling / performance, they drive the shit out of the cars and manage to fuck up at least one car an episode.
My favorite was the Lotus Exige vs. the Apache Helicopter. The other day they raced a Z06 vs. a line of gasoline on fire.

This was brought up on the show today. It's a great show and I recommend it to anyone, not just car nuts. New(ish) episodes just started on BBC America last night. The best bit last night was the Land Rover Sport vs a tank.

My favorite Top Gear episode from season 10 is currently on google video.
The Top Gear guys race to the north pole - Richard Hammond with a dog sled team, the other two with a Toyota 4X4. Amazing television if you have an hour to kill...

I've never seen the show but, I'm a HUGE Adam Carolla fan, and he's hosting the US version that starts in a couple weeks. He's insisting that the new US version is EXACTLY like the British version in every way.
I'll check it.
PS: I think Eric Stromer is the new cohost.

I've read all of the hoopla (easy killer) about the Us version on NBC. I am not amused. They people they have chosen are no where near as charming as the UK chaps. Add to the fact they asked Jay Leno to do it , and he declined saying that he was no where near the host that Clarkson and company are.
Lets hope we're wrong because, any kind of Top Gear is Ok with me =-D

Top Gear is one of my favorite shows on TV, and I'm not even all that into cars. I like engineering and stuff, and wish they featured motorcycles.
Summer series starts in England this month, hopefully they dont run too much of a delay before the show them on BBC America. Shit should be crazy on the BBC HD chanel.

It made me want to go to Vietnam so bad.
Also, their Botswana episode made me want to go there.

They were playing off of the original American special where they drove from Miami to New Orleans in American beater cars bought for 1000$. Clarkson was in an IROC or something, Hammond was in a dodge pick up and May was in a Caddy.
Loved Vietnam and Botswana, I haven't gotten to see the North Pole one though. Clarkson's delivery kills me.
On the Wiki it says the new season features a race in which Hammond is on a Vincent Black Shadow, which I'm excited to see.

Yeah, it would've aired in November in the UK. They go through the rain forest towards Chile, along the most dangerous road in the world, up to 17K feet in the Andes and then down to what is implied to be a 2K foot sand dune.
I actually read about the Highway of Death in a British magazine I used to get. Aside from the lack of railings I think there are also a lot of drug trafficking related deaths.

When May go all serious about not getting bumped on the highway I lost it.
Line of the show for me was Hammond saying "I think I forgot to take my malaria pill this morning. If I was a girl I'dve been pregnant loads of times."

Hey guys, I'm here on behalf of BBC America and I wanted to let you know about out next show: The Choir. The series follows choirmaster Gareth Malone as he tries to create a musical ensemble, bring unlikely people together and bring hope to some areas that really need it.
Check out a preview (http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/401/the-choir-videos.jsp?bclid=90119726001&bctid=105873891001) of the series and we hope you tune in on July7th!

On Mondays they're running a series called James May's Toy Story. It's about the toys of James May's youth. I didn't get to watch the first episode yet but the plot is James builds a house you can live in with legos. Should be great.

Two things to say:
First, the most recent series of Top Gear that just completed on BBC America was really really good.
Second, Top Gear USA starts on the History Chanel this Sunday. I haven't seen any ads for it, but I have the feeling it will suck ass.

Agreed. They originally had a decent crew on it but handcuffed them so bad that two of them just quit. It's going to be awful.
