What is your favorite car chase scene? For me, the Blues Brothers scene in the mall was perfect. Whats yours?

I heard the French Connection scene was actually shot with real traffic and people were in danger, but no one got really hurt. Loved that scene!

"Vanishing Point" is basically one chase through the whole movie.

"Ronin" has a great chase.

Considering one of them is a winnebago, Race with the Devil has a pretty cool chase scene. There's a bit of it at the end of the trailer:

French Connection, and Bullit are by far the best. The chase at the end of The Blues Brothers is really good also.

I loved the one in Bullit but the one in the entire movie "Duel" was my favorite.

I'm with tubby, bullet for sure. Every motion-picture-motor-vehicle-pursuit scene since owes it's existance to Bullit.

French Connection was the obvious next but for just one brief scene I choose: the man with the golden gun.

The genuine 360 barrel-roll still blows me away to this day

Clip of it at 2:12 of this video:

I'd say that 95% of car chases in movies bore the hell out of me. That being said, my favorites have been mentioned several times: "The French Connection" and "Bullit".

That's a great one too -- but it's basically Bullit's chase done in New York City.

being that Vanishing Point, The French Connection, Bullitt, and the Blue Brothers have been mentioned, I will have to go with my number 5 which was the first part of the car chase in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof. Zoe's doing Ship's Mast and SMM comes out of no where. Chasing and hitting the Challenger, it put me on edge.

1) French Connection
2) Blues Brothers
3) Bullitt
4) Vanishing Point
5) Death Proof

and as honorable mention, Steve McQueen chasing himself on the motorcycle in The Great Escape.
