I didn't see one for the 2008 Super Bowl Champions, so I guess this is it.

Also, Patriots release Josh Miller (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2977537&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines).

No Sauerbraun or Miller, so hopefully this isn't a repeat of the season when I saw the punter (who's name I cannot remember) kick a 27 yard punt in person. They did win the Super Bowl that season, so maybe a repeat wouldn't be so bad.

me too.......seriously, at this point fuck Samuel.....i want him back there but if he is gonna cause this much shit for one year he obviously isnt about the betterment of the team and is just concerned with himself. everybody wants to get paid, especially in the NFL where no money is guarenteed, but sack up for a year and play for a contender. once he goes to the Jets he's not going to have this opportunity

If he comes in this year and performs well again I can see the Pats coming to the table and offering him something closer to what he wants.

This will give Rodney 4 weeks to rest up and get ready for the season. It's unfortunate but thats the deal.

I think he just came to the conclusion that it's better for him to come out and tell exactly what happened instead of skirting around the issue when the NFL was going to suspend him anyways. He seems(ed) like a stand up guy and pretty much did what I would expect him to do in that situation. He didn't test positive for it. HGH can't be tested for he was just implicated in the federal investigation. I respect what he did by coming clean. Makes sense in hindsight when you realize that Merriweather played all 60 against the Giants. Our DB's have been a mess for years I don't think this is something they can't overcome.

Jesus Pat, we usually see eye to ey but what the fuck?! You say ever and in all sports and vs all other cities after they beat a team who hasn't won a playoff game in more then a decade and has Norv Turner as a fucking head coach. They are the best Patriots team ever, which is saying a lot. Their defense is doing this without Harrison and Seymour. That's fucking sick.

Randy Moss has been the shit so far as well. He's beating anyone they put against him, plus double and triple coverage.

As far as sports city, we're very high on the Pats and Sox. Though everybody is really excited about the new C's team. I think I might be on the only Bruins fan left, but I still love hockey.

Garyisajoke
09-17-2007, 08:59 PM
Red Sox are choking at a bad time. They'll hold onto the division, but they'll see the Yankees again and that's not a good sign because they've had their number all season.

Patriots are two games into the season and yeah, they've looked impressive but I need to see them knock off the Colts before I start giving them any gold stars. Plus I'm a Dolphins fan and I fucking hate them. And as far as best Pats team ever, fuck man wait a few weeks. The Jets blow and the Chargers are overrated. The Chargers had a LIGHT schedule last year and the minute they went against a good team in the playoffs, they got beat. They've got the pieces but you're jumping the gun a bit.

Celtics look promising but how often do teams loaded with big names pull off a championship? If they can gel, they'll be great but it's too early to say.

Bruins suck.

It's too early to say BUT if the Sox, Pats and Celtics get championships, I'll agree and say it was the best season for a city ever. But that's a lot to ask. The best sports city ever is probably something like Chicago, Detroit or Philly though. I don't think I answered your question...

I've sent three text messages today and that was one of them.

The other two were "I <3 Wes Welker" and "Brady and Moss on the same team seems so unfair."

Then I started thinking what would happen if Manning ever had an elite receiver. And then I remembered that he has TWO.

I was actually worried for the 1st quarter. Not that they'd lose, but that they looked bad. I was wondering why a rookie was picking them apart. Then I realized that they were just letting him play so they could see how to adjust, and then they did. And the Bills basically got 1 first down in the 2nd half.

I think the Colts could beat the Patriots today. If Bob Sanders has a big game, Freeney could get to the QB and the Colts offensive line gives Manning time to throw I could totally see the Colts winning this game. The Colts have won games against some good teams this year and I don't think they're as far behind the Patriots as some would have you believe.

I hate all the overhyped statements that typically come out when a commentator wants to make syrup out of shit, but this really is the superbowl. The rest of the teams might as well be NFL europe because they're in another league. Whoever wins the AFC wins the superbowl.

Speaking of overhyped statements another one that pissed me off was today when one commentator said that Joseph Addai was "Barry Sanders reborn" because he had just got off two big plays. Sure. Offensive because Barry's not dead, and Addai is just Joseph Addai not the greatest running back who ever played who shined when playing for the worst team ever.

This game was huge for the Pats and the Colts. It had the potential to determine homefield advantage in the playoffs. There's no way Belichick was holding anything back and if he was he'd be the worst coach ever. In the first 3 quarters the Colts dominated the Pats at the line 95% of the time, that's why it was so close. Don Shula likes the Patriots' chances of going undefeated, but the Bill Belichick-inspired spying scandal has clouded Shula's thinking when comparing New England with his unbeaten 1972 Dolphins team.

"The Spygate thing has diminished what they've accomplished," Shula said in an interview with the New York Daily News. "You would hate to have that attached to your accomplishments. They've got it."

thats what i love about people that make excuses after a loss. it doesnt matter whos there or not come game time. if harrison was there and the colts still lost, you'd make up some excuse about how one of their starting linebackers was out and if he was in the Colts defense would have been better and they would have won. injuries are part of the game. theres no guarentee Harrison will be there in playoffs, maybe he hurts his knee further. we don't know. you go to war with the players you have, and if you get beat that day then you clearly are not the better team. the Pats will prove this again come AFC title time, and there will still be excuses from Manning sympathizers.

Ugh.. Please go undefeated.. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3097057)

Seriously, I hate these Champaign drinking old queens.. I told Snoogans a week ago that they would say this..

13-0.

Brady has 45 TD passes, third all time. With three games to go, he's 4 behind the record.

Moss is now 2nd all time for TD receptions in a season.

There's a serious possibility we might see a points in a game record set one of the next two weeks.

You realize who they're playing, right??

Plus, Coughlin's the kind of hard ass who won't give a damn about spoiling an undefeated season and pull his starters in the second quarter.

It's in the bag.

The tough one is going to be their first playoff game which will probably be against Jacksonville.

That could be the one team that derails the Pats' train.

the only way the giants would have had a shot at winning was if the patsies lost somewhere in the last 2 weeks having no perfect season to play for

and

the giants lost yesterday and needed to play their starters all game long so they could have a shot of winning and making the playoffs

Maybe the best bunch of crooks ever to throw the old pigskin around. Lets see, the entire organization is exposed for cheating early on, Rodney Harrison gets the 4 game boot for performance enhancing substances, the NFL/refs go out of their way to hand the Pats this honor to swipe out the past discretions, the poke in the eye tonight to Jacobs, the list could go on and on.
Yes, a great team, lets not count your chickens yet...they need 3 more to be considered the greatest.

I definitely agree with that. If there's no Superbowl, who cares?

I just feel bad for Coughlin if the Giants lose next week. If he hadn't played his starters this week, he would have been attacked by the media. Now, if they lose this week, he'll be attacked for playing his starters all game during a "meaningless" game. Of course, if they win, this means nothing.

I'm not trying to defend Wilfork, and he did put his finger in his face mask, but it didn't look like he was attacking his face with his finger. It seemed like he just wanted to scare him.

But either way, it was retarded. The Patriots are as undisciplined as an NFC East team sometimes, and it frightens me.
