Had to go to the doctor today because of my wrist, I guess I have tendinitis. Told me I can either move up to a stronger medication, or get a cortisone shot, which would hurt like hell. I chose the meds. I also have TARSAL tunnel syndrome, not carpal, its in my feet. Who the fuck gets that?

I actually like getting injections and blood drawn. My wife hates it. I was getting an IV before outpatient back surgery. My wife was in the room. As the nurse was pushing the needle into the back of my hand I looked up and grinned at her. It reassured her that she really is married to a sicko and everything was going to be ok. As a kid I had to get these heinous allergy tests. The test consists of around 25 scratch tests and 25 injection tests up and down both forearms. For some reason in the surreal world that I grew up in, it was necessary to do this to me on three seperate occasions. Maybe that's when everything went wrong.

The cortisone does hurt like an ass full of yellowjackets. I've had cortisone epidurals in my lower back. Pain meds end up hurting more in the end, though. Take the shot. You don't wake up in the middle of odd nights wishing you had a shot of cortisone to help you sleep. Plus you get to brag on message boards about all of the injections you've had.
