I say "outstanding" b/c it
could include the good, the
bad, and/or the ugly!!

I *hated* going to my aunt's
house in Queens. My parents
had me when they were in their
40s so all my cousins were
much older than me. Most of
the guys served in Vietnam.
Then my female cousins all had
infants so I really had no one
to talk to! My cousin's
husband would always make fun
of how fat I was ("I was a
large child!"). My dad would
sit and reminisce with his
sisters so I'd spend as much
time with the family dog. Sigh.

My holidays got so much better
and less complicated when said
family "disowned" me after my
dad died!!!!!

I remember one Christmas when
my father and gradfather
(mom's dad) were totally
loaded, and my little sister
who must have been about 10 at
the time decied she was going
to start drinking, too, and
everyone was too hammered to
stop her... I just remember
the three of them sitting
around a table, red as beets,
open bottle of vodka and
playing with a blood pressure
monitor.

I went to catholic school and I was in the church choir and got the solo in the Christmas mass.

I kicked ass! :)

For Christmas one year (I
think 1977) I got a really
awesome stereo *complete* with
an 8-track player! And to make
it even better: TWO Shaun
Cassidy 8-track tapes!!!! Top
that!!! (Oh, like it's hard to
do!!)

Every year couple days b4 new years in Ecuador people make paper machet models of the worst thing that they can imagen that has happend to them in the year taht they want to forget/die/leave. Stuff em with Firecrackers and that kind of stuff. We beat the living shit out of em if we want (i did), some people shoot them. And at 11:30 PM Dec 31 We pile them all up on eachother everyone from the town, throw gasoline on all of em and set them to flames. Burn our ugly past away. Everyone in the country does it basicly and it get to a point that the sky turns red from the flames.
a bad memory from that is one day a firecracker, wich is basicly gun powder inside a cane and seald with a stem to light it of corse but yeah it blew off in my hand. kinda put a dent in my celebrations.
BTW post #420

Every year I was forced to perform in my Church's Christmas Pageant. How many times can a young boy sing "Away in a Manger"? ;)
