While driving in the parking lot of my complex, I drove up on this little boy (about 3) standing in the parking lot. I stopped the car and waited for him to move. He ran behind his father's car and stood there. His father was sitting in the driver's seat of the car and started backing out of the parking space, knocking the child over. I beeped my horn and yelled out the window just as the car's bumper had crossed over the child's waist.
When I beeped the horn the guy got pissed and looked at me like "wtf are you beeping at" than I yelled "you're about to run over your fucking kid, asshole"

He just looked embarrassed, once I knew he realized the kid was there, I just drove away.

He just put his head in his hand like he was relieved the kid was ok. I'm not even positive it was his father, the kid and the man were both hispanic and I didn't see anyone else around, so I just figured.

About two weeks ago I had a similar incident, but I'm the one that almost killed the little Hispanic kid. I pulled into an apartment complex at about 11PM. I wasn't going fast, but I was headed downhill on gravel. This kid (about 3 feet tall) came running out from in between two parked cars. I hit the brakes, but the car was skidding on the gravel. The kid put his hand up in panic. The car stopped just as it came into contact with his hand.
The kid just ran away terrified. There wasn't a single damn adult anywhere to be seen!

Good for you and well done. Parents running over their kids happens every day. Readers Digest had a article about it recently and it was a disturbingly high number of kids each year are run over by thier parents, with in the hundreds killed.
You probably just saved another one.
