It's really interesting to see the insides of a person like that, especially since I just bought that "Stiff (http://www.amazon.com/Stiff-Curious-Lives-Human-Cadavers/dp/0393324826/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-8460805-6833424?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186792950&sr=8-1)" book recommended by the O&A show. I had no idea that the inside of a brain was white, I thought the whole thing was pink and mushy. It's also something to see the way drugs and booze destroy your kidneys, two completely different sizes found inside one person.

Yeah, and of course, not safe for work / people who don't want to see dead corpses cut up, but for everyone else it's really interesting and worth a view.

I saw that once. It kind of bothered me a little. I think she was a crack whore or something.
This one a little easier to look at.....click (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0D08XH63HEw)

in my fornesic science course i had to sit in on a few autopsies in Newark.

the most disturbing part was when they used a chisel to remove the scalp from the skull. Sounded like the were cutting marble.

Also disturbing is when they put your organs into a bag, and close them inside the incision.

good times!

Most of them were derelicts.
They sold the right for medical
examination of their bodies for
money. Something like thirty
dollars, I believe. Isn't that
right, Doctor Miller?

25.

Rightious bucks.

This incision allows us to pull
aside the skin covering of the
chest cavity, remove the breatplate, and really observe the
human organs as they exist in their
natural state.
Here we have the human lungs and
heart, which you can see is
actually located in the center of
your chest.

Bitchin'!!!

This is what I really can't understand. My girlfriend and I sat here and watched the whole thing, well, most of it, we skipped through most of the individual organ dissection, it was boring, we watched the heart, kidneys, and brain (which was amazing). I really want to see one of these in real life but I don't know how it would ever be possible. Anyone know any medical professors I could talk to?

I guess I can see that people might get a bit grossed out at this but you really can't consider that a person there on the table, once it's dead it's just a corpse, nothing more, a lifeless hunk of meat. We all have the same stuff inside of us, it's nifty to see them exposed, gives you a better understanding of what's going on inside.

I agree that when someone dies, its just a body and not a person anymore. When I die, I just want to be cremated and be done with it, but I just couldn't watch while they were slicing them open. I really thought I was going to throw up.

Once I suppress the urge to vomit because of stupid fast food, I'll definitely check out the whole thing. I love seeing stuff like this.

I have always wanted that too but then in the back of my mind I have this horrible fear that once you die you don't actually die but are just stuck in an unmoving body but can still feel everything, and that when you get cremated you'll feel yourself burning "alive" but be unable to scream.

What a nightmare.
