Most of the crops around here are failing due to drought. It's good for wine lovers though. They say the 2007 vintage of Virginia wines is going to KICK ASS!

Actually, they have to pump up cows with antibiotics to get them to eat corn. Its not natural for them, cows are designed to eat a grass diet. I'm sure there's plenty of grass around.

What kind of wines do they make in Virginia? Seriously. Certain regions are known for certain grapes (Upstate New York and sweeter wines or Oregonian Pinot Noirs)

i was in Glenn Allen two weeks ago and stopped by an ABC liquor store. to my surprise i only saw Virginia wines on the shelf. i bought a couple and asked the cashier about why there were only Virginia wines. Can't recall the name of the wine but it was a red and it was very good...

I like a really good steak a couple of times a year, but I eat so little red meat that this doesn't bother me too much.

Grass Fed Beef is a great alternative, plus it is not all that more expensive to raise them that the way most cows are raised now.
I did a paper on this for a Purchasing class and remember being shocked that more cattle raisers didn't do it all things considered.

I think this article is just an excuse for Peter Lugers and Ben Bensons to offer cheap alternatives while jacking up the price on what people really want.

I think those bastards probably jacked up prices on the alternatives too, just to keep up with the potential for increasing demand.

A Steak Shortage Hits N.Y.
looks like you'll have to order just a regular, ordinary " Rest Of The Country Strip "...

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie....
while not more expensive it takes far longer (more than double) to get the cattle to slaughter. Sure it doesn't cost much more but it takes more time and you need far more area to raise the same number of cattle...You silly easterners...

This is so disappointing... eating a pork chop off a hooker's head just doesn't have the same appeal.

To honor all of you New Yorkers in this time of pain and suffering, I'm gonna go to the Argentinean restaurant around the corner and eat a huge fucking mountain of Argentinean steak.
I'm a hero, I know. No thanks needed.
