So, this year is actually not as bad as last years, which was so bad I don't even remember who the person getting roasted was. It is cringe worthy in a lot of parts so far, but whatever, they stopped doing these things with purely comedians a few years ago and they haven't been good since then. Who the fuck wants to watch Ice T doing comedy material?

That's the 1st thing I noticed too. The guy I share an office with was watching clips of the roast on the internet. I didn't even know it was the Flava Flav roast from the jokes, everyone was attacking other guests. I don't think I saw Flav on camera once during the clips I leaned over to see.

Shows like this are like those top 100 shows on E! for me. They seem hacky, cheap, even if there's the occasional funny comment and though they are overall harmless, I cannot get myself to sit through it. Does anyone else feel that Comedy Central, in a strange way, destroyed the roast? Flava Flav does not deserve to be roasted. I am glad that they no longer use the Friar's Club name.

That came across a lot more bitter than I actually am about the entire CC Roast.

And a bit off topic but not really, does anyone else get physically ill when people have 'grills' on their teeth?

Most of these roasts are as much about the comedians busting each other's balls than just the "roasted" "celeb." It's just the way it is, and the reason I wasn't so freaked out when I saw that Flav was going to be the center of it all. I thought a lot of what I saw was pretty funny - Patton and Lisa were hysterical. Just some brutal lines. And, people may not "get" Flav, but the dude is a legit (OG) modern day celeb.

The old "classic" roasts usually ended up more taking shots at other people on the panel and even in the audience, so this is nothing new. I agree that this is the best one CC has done in a while...it's like most of the comedians knew how ridiculous it was and really just went for the jugular, and I thought it was great. Patton Oswalt killed up they, and I was really surprised at how good Snoop was. And damn, Carrot Top is an angry, angry man. Watch out for the 'roid rage...
