Stern on regular radio?

This happened today to me in the car. I pulling into a spot and when the car stopped through the radio came Stern's Sirius show. I knew it was Stern's show because there was cussing and the iron sheik was on( which i believe someone said he was on their yesterday). Has this happened to anyone else?

Another car nearby was transmitting their sirius unit's signal with a FM transmitter and it overpowered the frequency you were listening on.

Yes, once in an area near work. And then I passed by again and it never happened again. Probably like H said, I was scanning through the channels and it was down near the end of the dail where most people put their Sirius.

I've had that happen. For a while, it was happening to me every day in the same spot by the Tappan Zee Bridge. The signal was so strong it would overpower my MyFi daily. Hasn't happened in a while, though.

It occasionally will happen to me as well, but only for a few seconds, like in the time it takes for my xm to switch over to the signal from the FM. The first time though I freaked out cause I thought I was somehow being swindled by Sirius. I was much dumber two years ago.

The FCC has actually gotten complaints by people listening to a terrestrial radio station whose signal is overpowered by a Sirius unit. So there are people who think that their station suddenly went from discussing Jesus and his parables to airing some porn star riding a dildo and then jumped right back.

If I'm not mistaken, when they first built it, it was only one bridge. They had two way traffic on it. Now that would freak me out beyond belief. I'd have to be sedated before going over it.
