My mother was cleaning out some of her old music she doesn't listen to anymore. But even though these are in tape format, I just couldn't let them slip away:

Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine: Cuts Both Ways

U2: The Joshua Tree

George Michael: Faith

Billy Joel: Storm Front

Eric Clapton: Unplugged (Own 2 copies on CD, but you can't throw Clapton away, it's a sin)

and 3 Madonna albums:

True Blue, Like a Virgin and the self titled one.

How can you just get rid of music?! I never understood it. Even a shitty CD never leaves my collection, unless it's so fucking bad I have to physically smash the fucking thing to make the universe right again.

Yea, but isn't it much more fun to poke fun at you then get the truth?

I'm going to go through your trash for DVDs now.

I would never throw stuff like video or audio tapes (or books for that matter) away. My practice is to put whatever type of stuff I'm looking to get rid of in a box, put a "Free ___, take as Many as you want!!!" sign on it and leave it on my stoop. Never fails, within a few days everything is gone. If I can turn at least a few people onto something I like this way I feel like I've done my job.

It's funny how, pretty much alone of all the deceased music formats, no one gives two fucks about the cassette tape. I mean, people love vinyl so much it's kind of creepy. There are even eight track loyalists. But everyone agrees that the cassette tape completely sucked ass.

What do you mean by "don't work anymore"? You mean the actual tapes are bad, or the cassette is broken? If it's just the cassette, you can always move the tape to a new cassette.

I was really keeping my fingers crossed it would have been some old death/thrash metal cassettes. Odd enough, my collection has been growing in the tape category.
