I was thinking about this last night. Very simply put, if you could be one movie character who would you be?

Atticus Finch came to mind rather quickly for me. The number one hero as selected by A.F.I. But I started thinking more and I came to my conclusion.

Nick Naylor from Thank You For Smoking. I love the character. The fast talking, quick thinking guy. Reminds me of myself in a way. And, no offense to the book which is a greta read, but it is one of those movies that is better than the book. I read the book first too.

Though I'd love to be a comic book character with special powers for the sake of this argument, I'm going to go with more "real" people for my answer. It would have to be Patrick Batemen. (And of course I know he was literature first. I need to think of a solely cinematic character if we're going to play by those rules.)

Such a fucked up character. While reading the book I had to put it down a few times.

Oops, forgot about that. I was basing my choice on a different attribute. Change mine to Cabin Boy.

these were the first two that popped in mind when i saw the thread title, but not to steal any thunder, im going with tyler durden. I mean who wouldn't want to be Batman. Batman is awesome. He's supersmart, superrich, can do all sorts of crazy shit. But I think for a question like this, we have to avoid people primarily known for a different medium.

Bond can pass since he's known more for movies than for the books. More people probably know Patrick Bateman and Tyler Durden for the movies rather than the novels. But people like Batman and Superman and Spiderman, it would be awesome to do what they do so I think it would be almost unfair for them to be out there. If you really want to make it difficult, it would have to be a movie-only character so a lot of obvious choices (including my own) would be out.
