An idea to unify the boards

I was watching Revenge of the Nerds a few nights ago, and the Greek Games plus Ron's comments about someone doing something to unite the boards struck a chord with me.

Without putting out too many details right now, does anyone like the idea of having a "Board Olympics", featuring contests that are more attuned to our skills in the AFRO community?

Poker
Guitar Hero
Drinking
Cooking Iron Chef
Madden Tournament
Sports Trivia Contest
Karaoke
Horseshoes
50 yard dash
World Series of Pop Culture
Putt-Putt like on the Price is Right

Winners get bragging rights and maybe a trophy or something. I dunno. Anybody think this is stupid?

Since the Godfather has expressed interest, here's some more details:

All boards get a stake, but each participant must pledge their allegiance to one board and be locked in for the entirety of the event.

Each event would have a certain amount of points, and those points are divvied up betweent 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Poker Tournament would be two tables of eight, with 2-3 reps from each board at each table.

The Madden Tournanment and Guitar Hero tournament could take place in one venue the same night.

Karaoke would be judged by a panel of three judges who aren't a part of the boards.

A multiple night, multiple event thing might be too ambitious to start. It might make more sense to consider one of those and see how it works out.

I'd recommend taking out the 50 yd dash and adding in Bocce ball

I think it is a great idea, but I agree with Jon that a competition is a bad idea. a better idea would be to make teams with 2-3 board members from each board on them, and then have those teams compete.

I really like the World Series of Pop Culture angle, I think that could be really fun, esp. if some of the categories are R&F and O&A Trivia.

So obviously, the biggest part of the Guiness Live Broadcast was the Family Feud. What if we expanded on that into another event, with teams comprised of members from each board?

Don't know if it's really necessary. STI and RGF are pretty low traffic now. Paltalk really isn't close to as big in the "community" as it was. Twitter in and of itself is a completely different kind of entity from messageboards. FTB wouldn't want anything to do with something like this. As it stands, that just leaves us and WB, who exist separately just fine and really don't have any bad blood.
