Mikeyboy is already married.
The movie looks really interesting though - I could almost see me, my Brother, and my Dad doing something like that. Except it would have to be local - my Dad won't fly.

Has anyone else seen the short film "prequel" that's online-only and has a nekkid Natalie Portman in it?
Maybe it'll work better once I see the actual film, byt as a whole it was pretty stilted and forced...like a parody of a Wes Anderson movie.

Downloaded Hotel Chevalier for free on iTunes yesterday, haven't had a chance to watch it yet

Yeah, I don't know if this works as well as Anderson thought it would. There were definitely moments when I thought I was watching a parody especially during the dialogue. At times it sounded like that horrible "improv" game where the two participants can only ask each other questions. I will say that this is worth a download just to see Natlie Portman's fantastic ass.

looks like another great Wes Anderson movie. I love the part in the trailer where Jason Schwartzman is yelling "I'm going to mace you because I love you".

I'm a fan of Wes Anderson movies, especially Rushmore and Life Aquatic...
But it starts to get annoying after a while when a director ONLY sticks to the same cast of actors and basically just turns his movies into a running series. We get it, you like Bill Murray, the Wilson brothers, Jason Shwartzman, and that Indian guy with the long beard... TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Yes. I'm with Pixie on this one. Wes Anderson movies are JUST OKAY. They're not brilliant, they're not hilarious. They're kind of interesting and I dig that he has a voice and an idea, but they are extremely pretentious and twee.

It worked for Woody Allen.

Not just Woody Allen but a lot of the Coen Brothers supporting players are constantly reused and a lot of foreign directors (E.g. Kurosawa, Bergman) tend to use the same people.

I don't think anything will top Life Aquatic...
I absolutely love that movie and it's mainly due to Willem Dafoe.

He usually sneaks in new actors with each one...this time it's Adrien Brody, and he supposedly really steals the film. TRT had Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman, Danny Glover, Angelica Huston and Gwyneth Paltrow showing up for the first time. TLA added Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Bud Cort and Michael Gambon, so it's not like he never uses different actors.
Besides, wouldn't this be like screaming the Coen Brothers and Scorsese for doing the same thing? Good filmmakers like working with good actors that they have a rapport and success with.

I really enjoyed it quite a bit, there were a couple hilarious scenes.
For some reason I was under the impression hotel chevalier would be shown prior to the movie, it wasn't. I downloaded it when I got home and felt that it didn't have a tremendous impact on scwartzmans character. So don't feel pressed to see it before going.
After his recent events owen wilsons character hit a little close to home.
If anybody else saw it explain to me the contribution bill murray made to the movie, I would like to hear soembody elses take.

Last movie I saw Danny Glover in was "Shooter", and I couldn't understand a fucking word he was saying. Did he have a stroke or something? Sounding like he had marbles in his mouth and picked up a lisp at the same time.
Edit: Nevermind, I just googled, and I guess he actually did have a minor stroke.... You'd think it would be time to hang up the acting career once you have trouble speaking. Unless of course you're playing a stroke victim.

Saw this last night. Was very pleased by the whole thing. On the DVD the short film is shown right before the movie. Not sure about the Bill Murray thing, all I could figure was that he was there because he shows up in all of this guy's movie, but I doubt I am looking at it in an artistic enough way to get the actual movie.
Good flick. Not as crazy as his other films, this one seemed much more accessible to the audience.

Creepy as fuck...I saw this (finally) last night too.
I thought it was great. I'll have to watch it a few more times to have any idea what bill Murray or Hotel Chevailer contribute if anything.
Did anybody else get the feeling that Owen Wilson was playing Dignin again?
