Hey Guys.
I have made the decision to finally go ahead and get a tattoo...Made up this design (It's a Bass Clef)
Just wondering if you had any recommendations for a shop in the area...NYC, NJ or Philly.

Obviously I want someone that is good with black and gray, and fading. Someone that is precise.

I am getting it on the inside of the wrist. About 2 1/2 to 3 inches in size.

I am tired of seeing really poorly done tattoos(A la Seaside Heights, NJ) and I want my first experience to be a good one. I'm thinking of getting something else on the other wrist eventually, if the first one goes well. (Perhaps my family Crest)

Thanks!

I agree with Stupid.... I had my tat done here and they do GREAT WORK.

I actually went there on recommendation from my friend Lisa whose entire family has tattoos done there every year. All of their artists are consistent and the environment is comfortable and fun.

The prices are not to shabby either.

ya killin me dood.
i was going to get a bass clef (although.. not with the shading and all) on my forearm, about 3" in size.
now, i cant get it. or, if i do, i can never bee seen next to you, or we'll look like some secret underground club homo's.

...on second thought, maybe if we have similiar tattoos, that would help elevate my cool factor and become equal to you in "awesome status".

Ink Spot II in Greenbrook on Route 22

BF got his 3rd there, he took a line drawing of a chief's anchor and the artist did an awesome job shading the rope and brought out lots of dimension in the anchor itself. He got it on inside of forearm

I've seen some bad work, but I've seen great work go bad too for simple reasons - 1) people pick the dead skin off - don't do this, and 2) people do not use sunscreen on tats that are exposed to the sun. Always use sunscreen.

we use Tattoo Goo, it's like a big tube of chapstick for your tats. Good stuff.

Lots of bass players have that tat in some form or another...

Join the brotherhood!

And standing next to me is already enough to make you cool...tattoo not needed.

There is a good tattoo shop in New Brunswick called Inksanity. I have had a couple of pieces done there, and one of their former artists is currently working on a my sleeve, which is a very detailed and complex.
For your tattoo (and no disrespect intended), there is not much detail and any place you find should be ok, just make sure the place uses clean needles, and ask to look at the artist's portfolio to get a sense of what they can do.
