Series premiere tomorrow, 10pm on FX.
I'm liking the previews for this show. Glenn Close, who was so good in The Shield last year, looks like a real "don't mess with hardcore bitch" in this role. I'll be tuning in.
Anyone else?

None of the previews really make any sense outside of showing that it's yet another goddamn show about lawyers.
So many of the lines are sooooooo cliche.

I'm gonna Tivo it for sure. All the other shows on FX are so good I'm definitely giving this one a chance.

Well, I won't. I didn't know this thread was only for people who didn't think the commercials were laughably bad.
"This amnesiac(?), Laura Palmer's corpse-lookin' waif is now my legal protoge for no reason at all...OH NOES! Motocross Sam Malone is going to steal her! HAW-HAW! That guy isn't a man even though he clearly is, A MILLION POINTS FOR TOUGH OLD LADY LAWYER."
I propose that nobody can put any new dramas about lawyers, cops or doctors on TV for at least 10 years.

I said I was tuning in. I asked if anyone else was.
And yes, all the lawyers, cops and doctors shows have been done over and over again. There are new ones every year, and some are good, and some are bad.
But I'll reserve my judgement after a few episodes. And by the way, you got the amnesiac plot wrong. That's on soap operas.

I'm not watching this simply because they've been shoving the fucking commercials down my throat for the past 2 months. It's on every break on FX

I can't figure out what the deal is. It basically looks like a filthy girl wanders in off the street and they make her a lawyer. For some reason I get a whole "I can't remember my past" from it. Even without her being an amnesiac it still looks like it makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

Well, I watched it, and it made perfect sense. Great show... clever plotline, good characters and a nice little twist at the end that will have you guessing which evil angle is worse.
It had some laughable moments - especially the Ted Danson character, Authur Frobisher. Mojo, I did think about your "Motocross Sam Malone" comment and laughed - especially when they showed him force another motorcrosser off his bike and he breaks his arm. Oooh tough Motocross Sam Malone! It was also a nice touch showing TV footage of his previous trial and he's blinking consistantly - a sure sign of a liar.
But Glenn Close's Patty Hewes character is great - loved the end scene on the dock... how many secrets do you think are hidden under those waters?
The plot was very clever and I look forward to the next episode - which from a few reviews I've read, is where it really gets interesting.

That damn Ted Danson...he's nothing but a walking lie! Never trust him!
