The already bad parking situation promises to be 1000% worse as they've begun construction on the new stadium. From what my friend tells me, there will now be permit parking and there is only one permit per four season tickets. My friend has four tickets, and I usually buy two of the four for a couple of games a year. The way I figure it, unless I drive to his house first and go with him, I won't be able to park. I'm seriously thinking of just parking at my dad's house in Secaucus and walking across the Route 3 bridge. I don't know how this will work for the Jets, but I assume it will be a similar deal.

So, be prepared for a parking nightmare. Expect to park further from the stadium and have to take a shuttle bus. I actually got stuck doing that last year and it was no fun at all. I was at a Red Bulls game in June and saw that they have the entire parking lot between the stadium and racetrack fenced off. This is where the new stadium is going. If parking is anything like it was for Live Earth it will definitely be a nightmare. We got directed to a corporate/housing development about 5 miles away and had to wait in line for school buses to take us to the stadium. It should be a little better because the NJ State Fair was going on that day also (why they did both of those things on the same day I'll never understand), but it will definitely be bad.

Any news on Strahan? I'm guessing he just didn't want to go through training camp, but I hear he's been working out pretty hard in L.A.

This gets crazier and crazier. My idea of parking in Secaucus and walking acoss the Route 3 bridge apparently won't work. My dad, who lives in Secaucus, showed me a copy of the local paper where the mayor states that they will be ticketing anyone found walking on the highway. I assume that East Rutherford and Carlstadt will follow suit. They don't want the headache of people, cars and traffic on local streets.

My brother-in-law went to the Carolina game last week and said it was a nightmare. This, mind you, was for a preseason game where the stadium was half empty. He went with someone who had a parking pass and said it took almost an hour and a half to get into the parking lot from the turn off from the highway. Apparently people were either unaware of the permit requirement or just chose to ignore it. There was apparently one sign on the highway stating the requirement and the sun glare made that sign difficult to see.

Each car had to show a permit and if they didn't have one they were turned back and sent to the off-site parking lot at the Lyndhurst office park (near Medieval Times) which is $20.00. There you have to wait for a shuttle bus to the Meadowlands. I don't think I'll be going to any games until the new stadium is done.

EDIT: I just read that there were 66,000 in attendance for the Red Bulls game today (Beckham's MLS debut). I'd be interested to know how that work out.

Well a lot can happen between now and then if they stay reasonable healthy they should be in the thick of things come December.

The scheldule is not really all that soft. The have to play in Detroit, Chicago, Philly as well as Dallas, Washington, and New England at home. If they wind up with 10 wins it will be quite an accomplishment.

Detroit is the game after Dallas not Buffalo, and its at Detroit. In Philly is a tough game. Washington is a tough game, they looked really good yesterday and should only get better. New England is as tough a game as you will get.

im kinda torn on who to root for this weekend

the redskins or the vikings

vikings are 8-6 and the giants are fine as long as they beat buffalo but if they dont and the vikes win they win the tie breaker and will be the 5th seed

at this point i'd rather play the bucs in the first round then go out to seattle where we never play well and usually lose so i'd like to remain the 5 seed

but for the vikes to lose that means the redskins win and will also be 8-7 along with minnesota ... this scenario could put the giants out of the playoff picture if all 3 teams finish 9-7 as the skins and vikes would get in over the g men due to tiebreakers

now the giants would almost assuredly lose to new england
