This is why I don't play fantasy ball anymore. Or, at the very least, fantasy football. Westbrook had what was quite possibly the smartest play I've ever seen, and you as an Eagles fan, should be happy that your team beat your biggest rival on what is decidedly a down year.

Well that really sucks because his poor performance got me into the championship game in my league, but that was only because of a poor showing by Brady.
Now would you split 90% of a $2000 dollar pot with the other guy in the championship or just risk it all for 65% of 2k

Im wondering if this is because of what happened in the 2nd redskins game where they let him score at the end to put the eagles up by 8 and the skins almost came back to tie it. Westbrook is a smart player to have remembered that from earlier in the year

Well my lineup is Brady, Brandon Jacobs, Maurice Jones Drew, Aaron Stecker (I have LJ but he has been hurt, and i dont think i will run DeShaun Foster or Maurice Morris) and then two of these three WR: Kevin Curtis, Bernard Berrian or Nate Burelson (my theory is that WR's are a dime a dozen so i never pick an elite guy as i would rather have the RB's), Antonio Gates, and then my kicker and Defense
I could be either against: Brees, LT2, Justin Fargas, Marion Barber, TO, Marques Colston, not sure of the TE
or
Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Willis McGahee, Braylon Edwards, Andre Johnson, Tony Scheffler and i think Brandon Marshall
I beat both teams in the regular season ( I went 11-2)
im thinking of going for the split money and just play for the trophy, $900 in hand is better then $500

are you guys nuts ???
how the fuck was it smart ???
a touchdown makes it 17-6 with the extra point
how the fuck is a 11 point lead not a smart idea ??
what if the eagles fumbled ???
what do we always hear ( usually referencing fg's) you never leave points off the board
Knowledged_one
12-17-2007, 02:50 PM
I probably should have told you the scoring rules also and you will see why my team was 11-2
1 rushing yard = .1 points
2 passing yards = .1 points
1 receiving yard = .1 points
TD's - 0-9 yards is 6points, 10-39 yards is 9 points and 40 and above is 12 and this goes for both QB's, and RB/WR/TE
Also for RB you get double points for receiving yards so 1 receiving yard = .2 points for a rb
So as you can see with Jacobs, MJD and Stecker (and before that LJ or DeShaun foster or Maurice Morris) they all catch alot of passes and also distance bonuses for Brady have made him the top QB by like 150 points in my league, he routinely put up 50+ points a game
Also i have the Giants and Seahawks D and rode each of them during their hot streaks so they always helped
and like i said i beat both teams during the regular season but i agree with you all bird in hand is better then 2 in the bush
And for whats it worth you all can crush my team but the bottom line is I am playing for the championship, and i wont get into a my team is better type of deal because with a healthy LJ it wouldnt even be a discussion on taking the split

If the Eagles fumbled a kneel down, then they have bigger problems.
You either give the Cowboys ZERO chance of winning, or score the TD and actually give them a chance.

Thanks guys! Charger fan here hoping the talent on both sides of the ball can outplay the his shitty coaching. It'll surely be hard seeing that they'll probably have to go through Indy and then New England.....if they can take out Cleveland/Ten/Jax in the wild card! Shit! However, I'm even surprised that he and Cotrell were able to win the worst division in the AFC. 9-5 after a 1-3 start looks great in my mind...and surprising.

Not to be a dick here, but this is a little over the top for a guy who had plenty of trouble on and off the field. Hell, it's even linked to his fucking death/murder. The kid from Denver died before the season and he was just an afterthought even though he never spit in other player's faces among other things.
PapaBear

There was a time when a player would have been called a pussy for not spitting on an opponent. And the guy he spit on would have been called a pussy for not trying to kick his ass for doing it.
I feel bad for players who have died and not gotten this much attention, but it's new territory. A player dying mid-season is something that the NFL has to deal with publicly. And at the worse, someone who might have been named and alternate, will have to wait until next year.

OK, then why was it I've read multiple times that the people who ended up killing him weren't strangers. Why is it that he slept with a fucking AXE every night? I guess it's bc he ran in such great circles working closely with the local chapter of the Red Cross and United Way right? But at least we're both not trying to be dicks!

Well since you want facts I will give them to you because you are obviously wrong on so much
1. He didnt sleep with an axe, it was a machete (not a gun) and how many people here dont have something like that for break-ins, i sleep with a stub baseball bat in my room for just such occasions and i live in Troy Ohio which is hardly even close to Miami. The guy actually had pit bulls for guarding the place and got rid of them when his daughter was born.
2. Where did you read they werent strangers, Sean Taylor had no idea who these people were and they admitted that they did the break-in because they didnt think he would be there. It is true that two of the four had been in his house before, it was at a birthday party for Sean Taylor's half sister that Sean Taylor was not at he just let his family use the house
3. And actually Sean Taylor was involved with the local United Way in Miami
And im not trying to attack you but you are spewing untruths about this guy whos death was clearly tragic, seriously get your facts straight before posting like you know what you are talking about

Dude, you're reaching soooo fucking hard I think you're about to pull a muscle. First, I put axe bc I didn't know how to spell machete...big fucking difference/you got the point. Second, are we going to say he didn't know them or had any connection or did he? Come on, read the writing on the f'n wall. I guess he just has dirtbags in the house bc of his family. And what a great guy to ditch pit bulls when he has little kids in the house. Pit bulls he probably had trained to be nothing but cluddly pets due to all his work with the United Way. Hell, every NFL player has ties to the United Way bc it's part of the gig. And I'm sure he did even more then normal community service after all his run ins with trouble within and outside the league. I have nothing against this guy either, but to immortalize him as if he was some pioneer or saint is a fucking joke. Funny you'd be biased with that sig and all. You HAVE to admit he was no saint and there are many questions with this case, his character and his past.

In fairness, from a person impartial in the situation. I too heard the reports Spoon heard, that the people did have contact and were in his house before for that party, but never met Taylor. They were over for the party, saw alot of nice stuff in the house, and decided to go back and rob it. Thats the way I heard it, however that's because it came from the guys who did it. Now, I'm no master criminal, but I prob would try to make it look most like you didn't mean it if I was in that position. Maybe they lied so it didnt look premeditated, shit like that. Who knows.
Anyway, regardless, I think he shoulda been voted in. Not cause he is dead, but because he was having a monster year and leading in votes at the time of his death, so he deserved it on his own merits, not cause he died.

I'm not trying to make this a Moe fight either so stop leaning on that crutch. And to say I have no idea about the case bc I'm impartial and don't root for the Redskins is nuts too. All I had to do is put on ESPN or the any channel talking about sports to hear about this case, and you know I listen to sports talk radio all day long outside of our boys. I also have watched a ton of segments on the case, as if I had a choice with the way espn, espn news and fox sports covers sports these days. So lay off the "you don't know anything" argument bc we disagree.
My main point is that it's a shame he's was killed regardless, but let's stop making him into a martyr of sorts, and deserving of what you suggested. Your reasoning as to why he spits, gets suspended, hangs with the wrong crowd and his overall shitty past is hilarious. I guess if Pacman Jones gets shot or Vick gets killed by dogs our suspicions will be simply wrong bc we aren't Titan or Falcon fans. Perhaps they should have had their respective cases worked by fans of those teams only based on your logic. And if another Darrent Williams gets shot, who cares, he simply wasn't an all-star and hence is deserving of nothing comparably.
Save these grand displays for the great guys in the game, not pro-bowlers caught up in their own bullshit. Sure he was good, and deserved to be on the selected to the pro bowl, but I wasn't saying he shouldn't.

Deion Sanders probably made what might be the single stupidest "point" I've heard in a game ever. He blasted the Steelers for running, saying "You don't eat up the clock when you're behind!"
By the way, at the time, the Steelers were trailing by 3, and there was more than 11 minutes to go. In the second quarter.

Listen, last year they let Merriman go to the Pro Bowl after he got BUSTED FOR JUICING, so who gives a goddamn rats ass who they let go, anyway? It's the stupidest all star game there is.

Good teams win close games. The Dolphins had like 8 games that were decided by 3 points or less. They won one (1) game. Good teams pull out close wins. [edit - actually, the Dolphins had 6 games decided by 3 points]
And yes, the "cheats" were exposed early in the season (week 1). Which means they've been under the watchful eye of the NFL for the final 15 games. So they're probably the first team in NFL history to DEFINITELY not cheat for the final 15 games of their season.
Also, what is the "blatant assistance" they've been getting? I'm so sick of people complaining about the refs. It evens out over a season for every team.

And I think the PF call on Toomer was because he spit in someone's face. If you watch the replay, he cocks his head back and it goes forward like he's spitting, and then the flag comes flying.

Well, "heisman winner" doesn't really mean much when it comes to NFL QB.
Troy Smith was drafted to be turned into something else, like a WR or RB.
Also - with all that said, he STILL looked better than the other two.

Billick's problem was that he was terrible with his QB. Boller finally turned a corner at the end of the year like 3 years ago or so. Then the Ravens went out and got a way too old and fragile Steve McNair and rebenched Boller, killing his confidence. Then, as McNair struggled, Billick did nothing, then would randomly force Boller into weird spots, where he'd ultimately fail. Boller's confidence is trashed. There's no way he's going to be a good QB in the league now. And this year, Billick would call 4 pass plays in a row, with McGahee sitting behind the QB on the goal line. His play calling was fucking terrible.

Apparently, the Colts and Titans may have made an agreement to let the Titans win so they made the playoffs. If it is true, look at how people know:
Tennessee quarterback Kerry Collins said on WFAN Radio on Thursday that the Titans kneeled at the end of the game Sunday because they knew the Colts wouldn't call a timeout.
With Tennessee leading 16-10 and needing a victory to make the playoffs, the Titans had originally called a running play, Collins said. But the team changed to a kneeldown when he was told over his headset that the Colts wouldn't call a timeout, which would have possibly forced the Titans to punt with less than 20 seconds left in the game, Collins said.
"Apparently there was some communication between Jeff (Fisher) and Tony (Dungy)," Collins said on WFAN.

I think this is way off, Tony Dungy is not in collusion with anybody to throw a game that guy really seems to be above this kind of stuff and does things with more pride and dignity then most. Tony probably didnt see the benefit in calling the timeouts when the outcome of the game didnt bear on his teams standings in the playoffs. He probably didnt want to lose any special team players and tehn trot out limp arm sorgi to heave it up

the problem is, how are you ever gonna prove it? Im pretty sure there is no way for one team to radio to the other. If Tony Dungy and Jeff Fisher had some hand singnals, who could possibly know. Plus neither Dungy nor Fisher seem to be the type of guy who would do that. In fact, the most likely, to me, is what Fisher said. Having been friends for years and on the competition comittee together, he just had a sense Dungy wouldnt risk anything stupid in a game that didn't matter to him.
