That's because you're not a Bears fan. I don't give a fuck about this game. Maybe the blimp can crash and wipe out both teams.
If the Yankees and Notre Dame were in the stands when that happened, that would be a perfect day for me.

there might not be a single thing in sports that aggrivates me more then Gumbel calling it a "period" instead of a quarter.
Aaron Rodgers actually looked good. Shocking.
He looked that in the preseason too...but being the #2 in Green Bay doesn't lead to alot of playing time.
Actually in all fairness to him, the best thing that could have happened to him was to sit for a couple of years behind Favre and catch up to the the speed of the NFL. If he would have played his first two years the league would have broke him.

Steelers:You know, we jumped out to a 14 point lead but in retrospect, we don't want nor need it. Please, take the lead.
Bengals. No, no. You worked long and hard to get that lead. We couldn't take it. It wouldn't be right.
Steelers: Oh pshaw! Look at all these wins we have. You don't have nearly the amount of wins we have. We can spare one. Go, take it.
Bengals. That wouldn't be right, taking something that you earned. No no, you keep it.
Steelers: Don't make an issue out of this. Take the damn lead already!
Bengals: NO!

true, but look at how many Heisman winning QB's never make it in the NFL. Hell, one was a point guard in the NBA. You can dominate a college game, but be worse than mediocre in the pros. Andre Ware was supposed to change how people looked at mobile qb's.

There's a long history of small white guys that make excellent possession receivers.

Marginal defensive holding at best. BS, almost as bad as the calls in the WVU Pitt game. Gotta love the late flag. Come on. I just went back annd looked again, horrible call. The back judge throws the flag after the ball is dropped, the "hold" occured 5 yards out of the end zone.

No, tonight in the clutch time, the bad calls happened to benefit the Pats. It did not even out in this game, and was a factor in the outcome. You can not look at the number of bad calls, rather you need to focus on the magnitude of the call. Throwing a LATE flag for a questionable holding call on 4th and 5 that ultimately changes the outcome of the game is bitching material, sorry. This was not the only call on that last drive that was iffy at best. It is complete horseshit. Can the NFL, ESPN, etc. crawl any farther up the Pats ass? For Christ's sake they were exposed for cheating 12 weeks ago and now that is all out the door?!?!?!?

I meant evening out over time.
Look at the Colts/Patriots game this year. The refs did anything they could to give the Colts that game, so stop thinking the NFL wants the Patriots to go undefeated. That's retarded. You think the NFL wants a team that got caught cheating setting records?
Magnitude of the call? The Patriots got fucking HOSED against the Broncos two and half years ago IN THE PLAYOFFS. Shit happens. You move on, that's all.

No, calls do not get carried over game to game. You look at how each individual game was called, and tonight the calls fell the Pats way, so be it. Not that I want, or actually think, the NFL really would manipulate games, the undefeated run is gangbusters for the league. You get marginal to non-fans to buy in and catch a glimps of history, however much assisted by the officals.
That said, it really appears the Pats have been figured out. Two weeks in a row squeek out wins against sorry teams...maybe the system has been exposed.

Get pressure on the QB, keep the ball out of the offense's hands. That's really all you need to do to beat any team, but specifically the Colts and Patriots. Something happened to the Patriots offensive line, and they've been getting killed the last two games.

you're absolutely correct in all those points. yes, the Pats got some calls to go their way tonight. but it's worked against them in the past. im still bitter about two shitty calls in that playoff game against the Broncos two years ago. that fumble out of bounds should have been the pats ball, even the replay showed it. but the call went against them, you move on. In other places, I keep getting the "well, if it went against the Patriots, you'd be saying something else." No, really, I wouldn't. It happens.
Sometimes a team goes up against another team and the other team is on fire, and there's nothing they can do to stop them. Some teams just get cold, and there's nothing they can do. Sometimes its really windy, and there's nothing you can do. Sometimes you don't get the calls, and there's nothing you can do. Its just part of football (and every sport).

i was reading an article this morning and the headline said "The Ravens had the Patriots beat before they collapsed and Tom Brady took charge." now i could be wrong because i didnt watch the whole game, but did brady really take charge? he is fuckin good but do they have to praise him even when he has an iffy game...just kinda getting sick of it. brady might have eventually got the win but it was very lucky thanks to stupid penalties, not taking charge.
yeah that 12 yard scramble on 4th and 6 on the last drive was just plain bad no way did he take charge leading the team down the field
You know they call QB's Field Generals for a reason right?

he took advantage of the refs calls he didnt do anything to help that
if not for the timeout or penalties, pats lose and he doesnt get a chance to do anything
yes he did lead the team to victory when he got the opportunity and you have to praise him for that

Yeah but anytime there is a name QB if they dont play well but still win the broadcasters will be balls deep on their cock because they battled for a win and used their knowledge of the game. I am a colts fan and if I hear about peyton's knowledge of the game a few more times I will lose it. I get it he watches film all the time. Key points if you want to get blown by a football commentator three words Brady, Farve, Manning (specify peyton not eli or else this might make them leave)

He really hasn't looked so bad. The near TD pass he threw to Figurs was really nice. Figurs should have dove for it and he may have had it.
Baltimore is playing for nothing, and Boller is the least consistent QB in the league, so Smith should get some playing time. Unfortunately, Billick is the coach, and he never does anything that makes sense.

No. But there is genocide happening in Africa right now. Who is doing anything about that? No one. So Vick's dogfighting pales in comparison to real issues, including everyday murders in the U.S. In fact, they can't be compared. Yea, he was cruel to dogs and is an asshole for it, which I agree with. But over a year in jail? He's being made an example of. I'd rather see him pay some astronomical fines, which will truly hurt. Sending him to jail won't change a thing with dogfighting.

Prosecutors also have disclosed the extent of Vick's financial ruin. According to court documents, the Atlanta Falcons are attempting to recoup bonus money from his 10-year, $130 million football contract, Vick is in default on a $1.3 million bank loan for a wine store, and two other banks have filed suits seeking repayment of a $4.5 million in loans and lines of credit.
Vick's home in the Atlanta area is on the market for $4.5 million, prosecutors said in court papers. The Virginia home where the dogfighting operation was based, assessed at nearly $750,000, is on the auction block, according to reports published over the weekend.

this is the 1st points bet this season, did a 2 Team Teaser with Pats either losing or not covering and Fins winning
yea so you are still a gambler. An alcoholic who doesnt drink is still an alcoholic. And I still don't buy it. No one making there first bet would bet on the Dolphins

its the prevent man. I just dont get it. You stopped a team all game with a certain style, why not change that when you need to stop em most.
the prevent defense will only prevent you from winning games
