Everybody is gonna lose when you turn the ball over 5 times in a game.
Not true.....If the Titans proved anything Sunday, it's that they can triumph when quarterback Vince Young is at his worst and when they're terrible on special teams.
Thanks to their new and improved defense, which came to the rescue no matter how many times it was put in bad situations, the Titans pulled out a 20-13 victory over the Falcons.
"Last year it felt like everyone was saying, 'Well, we won in spite of our defense,' '' defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch said. "And this year people are saying 'We won because of our defense.' That's a good feeling.''
There were mixed feelings, however, as the Titans walked off LP Field with a 3-1 record, and the mood in the locker room was far from celebratory.
With five turnovers, including three interceptions thrown by Young, the Titans almost had given the game to the hapless Falcons (1-4). The difference: Tennessee's defense outscored the Atlanta offense while allowing only 198 yards, nine first downs and no touchdowns.

I did. I didn't realize that Losman was out. Maybe that's a good thing. I'm always a fan of double-digit home dogs.

I shouldn't have said "everybody", but honestly there is a big difference between the Chicago Bears & the Atlanta Falcons.

Home teams get 3 points usually, right? So Vegas is saying NE is more than a TD better than the Cowboys.

I'm definitely not a fan of the Pats, but it would be soooooo cool if they went undefeated, and the Fins went the whole season without a single win.:devil2:

Houston Needs Andre Johnson, if they have a chance at anything
Jacksonville will make the playoffs, with a mediocre Offense and a Good Defense, such an easy schedule so far
The Pats are the Best in the NFL, Dallas is the Best in the NFC
Thank god the Boys playing the AFC East and NFC East for 75% of their games, but it may hurt them come playoff time
The Ravens Schedule is soooooo easy, if they were actually good , they would have 5 wins
The Skins are playing their Role as upper midcarder, show up to some games, fuck up in others, I dont see the playoffs for the Skins
The Pack are good, but not great, I feel they will make the playoffs and need a magical performance from Favre to avoid being one and done in the playoffs.
The Eagles and Jets both Suck, both will not make the playoffs, too bad for the Eagles, that this boosts their confidence
The Bucs are looking like a serious contender, after almost blowing it to Old Man Collins, they bounced right back with a FG to win it. Matt Bryant is the real deal when it comes to crunch time FGs.
The Titans are not that gr8, but a gr8 Running Game and a good defense should get them 9-10 Wins
The Raiders are playing more competitive, but they still suck, Jemarcus better learn the playbook and get in shape soon
The Chargers look good , but who know which team will show up, Rivers and the WRs are sub par at best. LT will have to carry them on his own.
The Cards keep losing QBs, no way they can win , if not at 90 to 100% Health Wise
Carolina and Grandpa Vinny , found a way to beat a depleted Cards, they will not beat a good team with that Offense.
Bears are overrated, but if they utilize Devin Hester as a WR, they may generate more points. Their Defense is too beat up to win games for them anymore.
The Vikings chances all res ton Adrian Peterson, he is tha Man, the WRs suck and the QB is MEH, The defense and AP will have to play at their best to generate wins
The Browns are a good team, would be well over .500 in the NFC, but they play Great teamsin the AFC. THis will make them a .500 and not making the playoffs. This sucks because I like the Browns, they score a lot and don't have big names.
The Fins suck, I am afraid my Giants will be their first Victory. But in a division with the Bills and the jets (YICK!!!!!!), there are a few wins to be picked up
The Chiefs are OK, dont let this win over a shitty Bengals D , fool ya, LJ is having a shitty year, and the QBS are WRs are OK at best. A Mediocre D and Herm Edwards doesn't help. You have to fear about a loss every week with this Team.
The Bengals will score 20 every week, to bad they are giving up 30, cant win if you give up more points then you score. It sucks because they have such studs in Fantasy Football

The Packers season will be just about nothing but our awesome defense cleaning up after our horrid offense. Favre will still be great for the team, but with no running game (Deshaun Wynn will work out in the end, but for now...) and inexperienced recievers (except Driver, but he gets overwhelmed by corners sometimes) I think our defense has a lot of work to do this year. I'll take them at least to the second round of the playoffs.

I know winning is always good for a team, but its kinda a bad thing for the pack, unless they are winning the SB (no) It would have been better if they were bad again so they could maybe get a Brohm or Ryan.. Winning is always not good for a franchise.. But it is fun while it happens

agreed, that Favre will screw the Packers out of a Nice Pick, just to make the Divisional Playoffs, But The Pack fans will enjoy the ride until the Draft next Year, when they Draft Bob Smith out of Oshkosh St. to QB

EXACTLY! Even if Green Bay had the number one pick they would roll with some dope from Navy or Monroe. Goddammit, their first rounder from this past draft is on the second string.
EDIT: Also, Aaron Rodgers seems like a pretty decent heir to the starting job. I'm more worried about our O-line or recievers.

Aside from watching Hester return kicks, there is ZERO reason to want to turn on a Bears game. KICK IT DEEP AND DOWN THE MIDDLE. you don't wanna lose to Hester, don't blow it on 3rd down. It should be a penalty to punt out of bounds, just like it is on kickoffs. Actually, it should be a penalty to punt out of bounds if not inside the 10. Cause coffin corner is a big part of stradegy. Anybody watching the Skins game?
Whisenhunt must be a part of the Les Miles school of coaching.
Down by 2 with 21 seconds to go and on the freaking five yard line. Instead of the chip shot field goal for the win he does some kind of reverse wr pass that gets intercepted.
Then the Cardinals get the onside kick!
Edit: They missed to long FG. Congrats Cards fans. Your coach is an idiot.
They were going for a two point conversion on that play. It's a weird call but they didn't have an opportunity to go for a FG for the win until after the onside kick.
OK, I'm an idiot then.

My argument against Eli wasn't the fact that Chad was better than him, it was that he wasn't the god you were making him out to be. Yet.
Even I said it's time for Chad's tenure to end. Clemens has to get a full half-season under his belt so the Jets know what to do in the draft.

Initially, I thought yes. But injuries would surely decimate the R&F 35 within the first few plays of the game. For example, several would be rendered unconcious on the opening kickoff.

My NY Giants are making a Carbon Copy of 2006. hopefully this season will be collapse free. Coughlin should go if there is a losing streak of 2 or more. He tends to sink with the Ship. The Defense is Better then last year and so is the Offense, Tiki Who????
But the fear of a collapse always looms.
The Rams Suck, but the 49ers will ruin their imperfect season. The injuries just made it worse for them.
The Skins are Overrated, will fold once divisional play resumes. Offense is too weak.
The Cowboys are the Class of the League, but they are not crushing teams like in the beginning of the Season. They should be the top Playoff Team, but they are not unbeatable.
The Shehawks Suck, they are only winning because they get to play Crappy Teams. Their offense is OK, Their Defense is OK. Fucking Lucky Pricks, they would be eaten alive in the AFC or NFC East..
The Lions are getting the Job Done. They have an exciting Offense but the Defense is Mediocre at Best. Good Victory over the Buc's(thanks to Jeff Garcia). But they need to win on the Road. They made the Skins Actually look like a good team.
Eagles, Bears, 49ers, Saints, Falcons,Cardinals,Vikings and Bucs*you are all NFC SCHLOCK. Go Fight for Better Draft Picks.

I don't know if I agree with that. Not because the Redskins are good, but because I just don't think people rate them that highly. I see them as a slightly above average team in a bad conference. Very good defense, with a beatup, subpar offense.

What is strange is I don't have that feeling of impending doom every game like I have in previous years. If one part of the team isn't clicking some one else picks them up. Hey I worry about injuries but just about every team in the leauge is dead if there key palyers go down
The Rams Suck, but the 49ers will ruin their imperfect season. The injuries just made it worse for them.
It is a shame the Rams were so decimated by injuries. They would have made a fun watch with all there shoot outs. Now its just the oppoents doing the shooting.
The Skins are Overrated, will fold once divisional play resumes. Offense is too weak.
The Skins go as Jason Campbell goes. At times he looks poised and on the brink of stardom. Like many young QBs he is inconsistent. If he gets it going he has a top ten receiver, top five tight end, and a very nice backfield. If Campbell makes inroads the Skins are dangerous
The Cowboys are the Class of the League, but they are not crushing teams like in the beginning of the Season. They should be the top Playoff Team, but they are not unbeatable.
Very beatable. The should have lost that debacle to Buffalo. If Minnesota had a pro quarterback Dallas would have been in trouble yesterday. That game against the Giants in three weeks is going to be huge. Lets hope its nice and cold.
The Shehawks Suck, they are only winning because they get to play Crappy Teams. Their offense is OK, Their Defense is OK. Fucking Lucky Pricks, they would be eaten alive in the AFC or NFC East..

I don't know why people are so concerned about "the show", anyway. When I watch a game, I watch the action. I can't even tell one announcer's voice from another (unless it's Madden, of course). I do agree that the celebrity thing is annoying. During that part, they have the camera on the box and don't show the game until the actual snap of the ball. Other than that, once that part is over, I can barely remember who was actually in the box with them.

Bills: Don't they wish they can play the Jets Every Week. They are showing me that they are tough to beat at home, and finding a way to win at Home. No Playoffs, but hey you are the 2nd Best in your Crappy Division
Steelers: Big Ben throws for TD's, Willie runs for over 100 yards, the defense is playing well. The is a Recipe for Playoff Pie. Good Luck Jobbing to either the Colts or Pats
Bengals: Yikes, your Defense is bad as the Programing in the WWE, you can score, but your defense wont hold any team with an Ounce of Talent. You will be 6-10 7-9 o 8-8. But No Soup for You. Gvac was right and leaving a Train Wreck.
Fins: losing Close Games or Blowouts are still losses , 0-8 eeek. Thank God you Play the Bills and Jets again. so you wont be 0-16.
Texans: When Andre Johnson left (injury) , so did your Swagger. You are Back to being Lower Mid-carders-Jobbers.
Chargers: Looking Good,Winning a game with LT showing up, impressive, but it was the Depleated Texans. With Phillip Rivers, you are no better than a Wild Card Team at Best. You will fall to either the Colts or Pats. But good comeback after a Horrendous Start to the Season.
Titans: Way to win with FGs, you are playing well above your means, your collapse will begin soon, it will be the polar opposite of last Year.
Browns: The Real Deal , too bad you are in the AFC, A Very Good QB WRs, and TEs an ok Defense, but a Wild Card Berth is a Victory , so enjoy it if you get it.
Broncos: You are tough to figure out, I always look at you and ask. Which Bronco Team will show up? The One with gr8 Running and a solid Passing Game. Or a Group of Blundering idiots, will are to enamored with Brett Favre to win a Home Game. No Playoffs for you.
Jaguars: Awful Offense , very good Defense, but I dont think you are good, Light Schedule. Wait until you play more division Games , you'll get yours.
Raiders: Hey atleast you are Covering , yick, you have a gr8 Defense, this is why you dont lose every game 35-6
Ravens Chiefs were off so they get NOTHING!!!
Now to the 2 Choices for your Superbowl Champs
Colts: You are a gr8 #2, I think I will call you :dramatic pause: Number Two
You will lose to the Pats in the Playoffs if Tom Brady is Healthy.
Pats: See ya in February, Score a lot, so you can make the Boxes more interesting
Now to the Jets

the second i heard that i yelled to my roommate in the other room, 'i bet that girl wants to kill herself now'. talk about bad timing.
I enjoyed that all weekend. NFL Network was playing all the recent Pats/Colts games over the years. Fun!
And those PI calls were pure bullshit. The refs always do that against us when we play Indy.
Catch the Pats cheating?

I noticed this sound during the Pats/Colts telecast yesterday and didn't realize what it was. Now I do.
From withleather.com
Here's the video of the Colts' favorite "crowd noise CD" skipping during World War III yesterday. Well, kinda the video. I don't remember half of the screen being green yesterday. Phil Simms and Jim Nantz do a nice job of acting like nothing at all happens, even though the cheering skips for several seconds before abruptly stopping.
<object width="425" height="366"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QHQTcFQEMXo&rel=1&border=0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QHQTcFQEMXo&rel=1&border=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="366"></embed></object>
Apparently the Colts "cheat" as well. I'm sure that bumping up the crowd noise artificially while an opposing team is driving down the field is verboten in the NFL. Then again, Bill Polian from the Colts is on the NFL Rules Committee.

Well Week 9 Sucked No Giants Game and I was 0-3 in Fantasy (Thanks Santonio Holmes)
Pittsburgh Steelers: Looking Good, I think the Steelers may give the Pats their Only Loss. Big Ben is on Fire, Defense is Confident. Not was I expected fter the departure of Bill Cowher
Baltimore Ravens: They are overrated, now that their defense is hurting, this is the true Ravens, A shitty offense who was being carried by a kick ass defense. No Playoffs and Good Luck with the Patriots
Dallas Cowboys: The Best in the NFC, hopefully the Giants will be able to Contend next week. Only the Giants or Maybe the Saints or Pack can stop the Boys from making the SuperBowl.
Detroit Lions: Looking Good, but no "real" Challenge Yet, hey face the Giants at Home, if they can beat the Giants then I can see them going 1 or 2 Rounds in the Playoffs.
Washington Redskins: Good comeback, I still feel the NFC East will Humble them. Way too many field goals against a weak Jet "D" without Jonathan Vilma.
New Orleans Saints: A Tale of 2 Brees, If the New Brees continues to throw TDs, then the Playoffs loom and maybe more. When their offense is rolling, they are top three in the NFC.
Tampa Bay Bucs: Fezzie feels there is a playoff push in them. Minus New Orleans , this rest of the Schedule is a Cake Walk. If they falter, then they really do Suck Balls
Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson is the Best RB in Football, He will win games singlehandedly for the Wikes. They may sneak in as a wildcard, but I dont think so , their division is too tough.
Green Bay: Damn, you've just been Favred, this Motherfucker is lighting teams up. He feels this may be his last hurrah. This Bastard may Carry the Pack to the Superbowl. He goes into Denver and KC, and throws game winning touchdowns. Viva La Brett Favre. I am starting to Believe the hype.
NFC Garbage Teams: Eagles, Cardinals, 49ers (yick after some high hopes) The Atlanta Dog Fighters, Carolina Panthers,
And last and Least
New York Jets: Kellen Clemens brought some life to the Jets. But the script says YOUR TEAM SUCKS. So get ready to give Miami their first win, then fight for the #1 Draft Pick. Ha Randy,. you wanted to bet $1000 on the Jets Giants (Better Record). AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA

i dont think that anybody looks like a genius picking up Priest. i obtained holmes a few weeks ago in two leagues simply to use him as trade bait. he's completely unproven at this point plus the fact that they have Kolby Smith there too and Herm said Holmes will get 15 carries tops, he's not going to do much. Plus K.C.'s O-line blows, making that much tougher for either back to run.

believe me that wasn't my intent. i kinda hope he returns to old form as well cause i still have him in another keeper league, so i'd love to get a nice return on my investment. i just think right now you could stick jim brown or walter payton behing K.C.'s line and they'd have trouble running. yeah, i just meant the resolution. the vikings did the good thing giving him the money (it really wasn't that bad them not paying him, like they said other players came back a lot quicker) and his giving it to charity leaves both sides looking good in the end.
Another reason to hate ESPN:
So they are going over San Diego's remaining schedule (which looks fucking brutal) and the records of the upcoming teams. They also had an icon next to the teams that are in first place of the respective division. One of those "first place" teams was the Detroit Lions at 6-2.
Huh? The last time I checked Green Bay was 7-1? My point isn't the diss of my beloved Packers, the fact that a network that specializes in sports can't properly identify the first place team of the NFC North?
What a bunch of douches.

pitt's decent, but they're not going to blow the doors off anyone. that 9.5 point line was a bit silly. also, if the browns had won, they'd be tied with pitt, so that alone tells you it's nothing crazy to think they'd have a chance.

Random week 10 thoughts:
It's still almost impossible to watch an NFL game anymore because of all the commercial breaks. Fortunately I was watching the action from the Courtyard in Sunnyside - where the Irish have learned the game and bet seriously on EVERYTHING - so I can swivel around and check out different games while the game I care about goes through the score/commercial/kickoff/commercial/game cycle. I know I'm like a broken record on this, but someone has to say something.
Terrell Owens, for all the bluster, is a great NFL player and understands how to get up for the big game.
Dick Jauron: I miss you. Speaking of which, I'm a die hard Bears fan and it's so goddamn hard to root for them. Paging Lance Briggs and let me tell you, it's hard to watch Cedric "I got mine" Benson and Brandon Jacobs at the same time. Fuck. Rashan Salaam/Curtis Enis/Cedric Benson. Is that the price we have to pay for Sweetness? It hardly seems fair.
I had the bye week plus 15 against the Patriots, and I still lost.
