Have you ever LOST something? Anything? And it stresses you and completely destroys your world ....
...until you find it???
.................................................. .................................................. .........................
Today I arrived at work only to realize I left my wallet at home. No big deal...
So I come home and begin looking around.... hmm not in my room. How odd. I usually put my things on my bed and gather them into my purse in the morning.
Ok.... search my car.... nothing.
Getting a little nervous.
I go through my entire apartment, under my bed, in other purses, the garbage, the freezer... WTF!? Freaking out. Search the car 3 times... now feeling the tears start. What the HELL could have happened to it!! OMG!!!
Sweat, tears, anxiety setting in rapidly, I sit on the corner of my bed and breathe deeply.
I look to my left.
A longshot. But I am desperate so I must investigate even just on a whim.
I lift one king size pillow covered in satin pillowcase, turn it vertical, and shake.
Out rolls my wallet.
I am a, now proven, imbecile.

I once lost my wallet for a good three days, I looked everywhere for it, tore my apartment apart looking for it. I was just about to start calling to get a new bank card etc, when I look on my stereo cabinet and realize that I put my black wallet on the black shelf of the cabinet and it had blended right in. Don't feel bad I'm pretty sure that happens to everyone once and a while. Oh yeah I've also "lost" my keys, and they were in my pocket.

wallet also, usually it's in the car or under something I placed on top of it and for some reason never decide to look under it
most times you have to just rest your mind just like when you're looking for a word in a 'hidden word' puzzle and you're going crazy. you then rest your mind for a bit and wala, there it is clear as day...
then there are times where you look for something and assume it's a certain color, like a food with a blue colored packaging 'for example'. what happens is you look right at it, around it, and over it because you're keying in on a color and it turns out the packaging was green all along...

I have ADD and am generally very anal about organization so I rarely misplace things. I can only think of two things that I've lost. And even though I lost them, I still know exactly where they are.
1) My wallet - while flying back from my honeymoon. I took it out to pay for my headphones while we were having meal service on the plane. Since my tray was down, it was a little awkward to get it back into my back pocket so I put it in the pouch in the seat in front of me and completely forgot about it until I got home and tried to pay the cab driver. Continental Airlines pretty much told me to go fuck myself when I called to inquire if it turned up.
2) The other thing I "lost" is a CD recording of my appearance as a contestant on a certain radio show. I vaguely remember deciding to put it somewhere that my kids would not be able to get a hold of it and screw it up like they've done with my other CDs. I recently wanted to listen to it, after not thinking about it for about two years, and for the life of me I can't remember where I hid it. So it's still in my house somewhere.

Pressed between the pages of some book maybe?

I lost my calculator about 2 months ago. It was driving me freaking nuts. I have a small room, so I can't figure out why I couldn't find it. I just went out to Wal Mart tonight and bought a Texas Instruments science calculator for 10 bucks. I'm sure I'll find the old one now.
Oh, and don't forget. Only users lose drugs.

I do this at least once a month. I will flip out, turn things over, knock things off of tables, then either notice it sitting on the edge of shelf, or find it in the pocket of something I was wearing the day before. One time I actually lost the key to my car for almost a week before I found it in a pair of pants. I walked to work at the time so it wasn't such a big deal to not have that.

It's fun wondering where the Ruger 9mm my wife [accidentally (?)] threw out is.
Telling the police about it was not fun.

Wait, why was your wallet in your pillowcase?
I think it's so hilarious that Bob was the only one to ask this question LOL
I threw a bunch of things on my bed and I guess that it just rolled in somehow. I thought it to be QUITE strange, as well...

Had the wallet thing happen to me a few months ago, ironically, in Philadelphia. I went down there for a meeting and for some reason had pulled my wallet out while I was parking. When I get to my meeting I realize that I don't have my wallet but don’t really need it so I figure no problem.
When I go back to my car, there's no wallet to be found. I check the seats, under the seats, between the seats, everywhere. I finally go up to the parking attendant (a different guy than who was there when I arrived), knowing that if he took it he wouldn't admit it anyway but I ask he said he didn’t see one. So I get back in the car to leave and start thinking about calling the credit card companies, etc., when I decide to check the glove compartment. And there it was. The original parking lot attendant must have seen it on the seat and put it in the glove compartment. I gave the attendant who was there $10 and told him to be sure to give it to the morning guy (I hope he did).
Then last week I was flying back from California and the plane was ready to leave the gate when a passenger comes running up from the back saying that he can't find his cell phone and that it must still be in the airport. So we get delayed while the gate agent goes to check the terminal and finds nothing. Then a flight attendant comes up from the back of the plane saying they found the phone. Apparently he put it down on the seat next to him and his girlfriend sat on it!

I lost my wallet leaving the opera house. Tore the car and hotel room apart. Couldn't find it, so I gave up cancelling everything. Turns out it was stolen, someone tried to use the credit cards. Anyway a week later the mf-er sent me all my cards and identfication back, but keep my wallet with $400 in it. Said he found it on the sidewalk next to the casino. I guess I don't lose things, just have them stolen. But everyone is telling wallet stories so I felt I would join in.

I went with my brother to a Giant/Vikings game at the meadowlands and brought a 500dollar camera I bought in Mexico to the game. We got there early and took some pics of the players practicing.
We were both Viking fans(i'm not now) and the Giants wound up winning. I was feeling shitty about the loss and we left. We got all the way out to the street and I was like WTF? I left my camera behind.
Went all the way back, upper level, only to not find the camera. Talk about a shitty ride home.
LUCKILY
Later found out the guy sitting a few seats away knew my Uncle who's season tickets we were using and brought the camera home and i got it back a week or so later...

Last year I lost a CD book with every single Grateful Dead album including all the Dick's Picks, all the live shows and all Grateful Dead affiliated albums (Jerry Garcia Band, Bob Weir, Old and in the Way ect). The book was organized in order of release date/date of show and was my pride and joy. I used to have actual nightmares that I lost the thing and then one day...gone...
