Okay, the whole celebrity entertainment thing has been ridiculous for quite some time, but I have to bitch about the "hype" about Victoria Beckham coming to America.

Really, who cares? She was in a girl band that lasted all of a year, she's essentially a walking mannequin, but she got lucky and married a great soccer player. That may make her a celebrity in UK, but why here? Is it the entertainment shows' attempt to create a new celebrity?

This is another case of the "Celebrity Press" trying to tell us who is popular and who we should care about.

I think the general concensus in the USA is "who cares - Posh Spice is coming to America. So what?" HOWEVER, the "Celebrity Press" (Entertainment Tonight, E!, Extra, etc.) is trying to force her down our throat like she is the second coming.

Posh's popularity is merely an artificial fabrication in this country - She is only popular because we are TOLD she is.
