I hadn't been around here for a few days, and i didn't hear the Friday show until yesterday... and in the middle of all that I was so fascinated and baffled that your name kept coming up.

Loved the takedown of that shitty Transformers movie in this week's show. I'm shocked and dismayed at how many people seem to be willing to completely overlook the fact that it's a total clusterfuck of stupid jokes and almost impossible to follow action sequences and cheesy romance because they're happy to see some toy they had as a kid on the screen.
Look, I don't think every movie has to be "My Dinner with Andre". But, come on, you shouldn't have to utterly disconnect your brain either. You can have a summer movie with a decent plot, believable dialogue, and possibly even some food for thought between explosions.

It was really chaos of the least intelligent proportions. Every second I spend thinking about the movie makes me hate it that much more.
I think there is a really, really strong built-in subconscious desire for people to defend whatever movie they go see. I think people feel like it would somehow reflect poorly on them if they had to concede they had just wasted 10 bucks per ticket plus concessions.
So when i hear people saying "Oh, come on...it's just a summer popcorn movie!" I realize there is just no getting through to them. Even if on some level they realize it blew, they will never be able to admit it to themselves. This theory sits along side my theory that most people who refuse to watch subtitled movies do so not because they hate foreign film, but because they actually have a hard time reading fast enough to keep up - so that becomes the reason they hate foreign film.

a good way to ready yourself for a movie with subtitles is to watch TV for a few hours with the captions on.

I am about 20 mins into the show, I I will listen to the rest later but here are some random things:
the rainbow show is a great name for your show
wild facial hair is cool, let's see a pic of that handsome face
I forget my credit card all the time at a bar too
what's up with the show?
what's up with the station?
a death play list is a cool idea.
electric youth? turn in your man card CT.
nothing is up with the show. in fact, get ready for another re-run next week... i can't guarantee anything, but i believe we've now taken some precautions to make sure we can now put a new show out every single week. this one coming up should be the last for a long while.
mostly we're been tinkering with the demo - soliciting feedback, re-tinkering. I think the demo is now in the "as good as it's going to get" stage so it should be going out en masse soon. We've spent a bunch of time on it and it really is at a stage where there is nothing more we can do with it. Once they're in the mail, it will be about pestering stations and just going back to the podcast with a little more enthusiasm.
I have no problem letting you guys in and telling you our morale is in the gutter right now. This hasn't been the reason for the couple 'best ofs' though, that's just been various complications. Getting a look behind the programming curtain of talk has been a disheartening experience. The bottom line is the industry is stacked top to bottom with people who just don't want to do their job. They want to avoid a headache and keep their head off the chopping block, not actually be proactive or honest. Many excuses are made before the problem has even arisen just to make sure they land on their feet when something fails.
I'm hunting for a job, Jivin still has his, and that's it really.
And yes, Electric Youth motherfucka.
