So I picked up this CD today. I wasn't sure why, but there was something about it that stuck in my head after hearing the songs on Ron and Fez. But I figured if I was gonna listen to it, I would do it right:

I lit the end of a fien Macanudo cigar, lit the end of a stick of very fragrant incense from India and sat back for my hour long ride from PA to NJ.

I have to say, as infuriating as it is to sit there and listen to Perry Farrell babble on and on about his spacy, drug enduced garbage, the fucker can sing and make good music. He seems to always create a sound that you have to check out and this CD is no different.

I got to about track 8 or so before I took it out and tried to give the new Type O Negative a fair listen, but I got disgusted and put Satellite Party back in to revisit some of my favorite songs so far. Track 3 and 4 are my faves at the moment, but that was just one night's listen.

I also flipped forward to hear that track with Morrison on it, but I just didn't really feel it.

I suggest everyone go check this one out. It's really a good CD.

I gotta say, I dug the songs they played on R&F... I've been thinkin of pickin it up along with some other CDs... something I haven't done in years. Good to know it gets a ringing endorsement so it'll be money fairly well spent :)

I kinda felt the same way, I heard it all again on the replays, and as tired as I thought I was of that same 90-91 west coast rock sound, I didn't come off as dated to me the second time around. I really dug everything except the Morrison track.

Wow, both of you didn't like the Morrison track, and here I am thinking about picking it up for that track alone.

I also really liked the track with Flea and John from the Peppers.

Don't know why I haven't checked this out yet.

Loving this CD right now. It reminds me a little of Porno for Pyros in that it is a little more experimental than Janes Addiction. I agree with Moe that Perry's strange views can be a bit annoying but the music is very catchy. I am digging the Morrison song, it is just like Ron said, "It sounds like it came from the bottom of the ocean".

So, the new Type O Negative sucks?

The guy from Type-O sounds like Count Chocula, but less talented.

Sorry, completely missed your post.

I wouldn't say it sucks just yet. I kinda jumped the gun saying the new Ozzy sucked, but found myself putting the CD back in a week later wanting to hear certian songs.

This Type O album is just weird on my 1st few listens. It has a punky feel to the songs. A lot of parts I heard were a little fast paced and Peter's vocals were different and kinda ruining it for me.

A couple songs at the end of the disc were peaking my interest, but like I said, I got bored and wanted to hear Satellite Party again.

It's not as good as World Coming Down or October Rust in my opinion.

Last night I ate 3 grams of mushrooms and listened to this album while playing poker and it was a magical album to listen to at that level of intoxication.

D.M.M..its a shame but I really don't like my son's kind of music...It really kinda hurts me I feel that way..I was a singer and bass player he is a guitar player and the sole writer...They are young ,Tyler has only been playing for 4 years... Don't get me wrong I am very proud of him, but I come from a era where singing was with melody..I'm old..Anyway I was wondering if you would check out his band or anyone else who like's this kind of music..The funny thing is the singer can really sing I have heard him in choir....Any way sorry to interrupt this thread.....It on my space at Self Composed Requiem..Thanks Jug...Ps... Moe the drummer is my dads brothers son. My son's cousin he is only 15...He amazes me every rehearsal i go to...Thanks again...
