Cool premise using The Guardian of Forever from probably the best episode in the original Star Trek series, "The City on the Edge of Forever". I wondered why they never used that more often in later series or the movies. (Though they did use it in the animated series).

I liked it. It left me wanting to read more.
Good premise, good use of existing characters; their actions and words seemed true to Roddenbury's original.

I always wanted them to revive the failed Spinoff Assignment: Earth.

Yeah, whatever happened to Gary Seven and the Aegis? And why did they want to protect Earth?

They actually used it in of the few non-canon Star Trek books that's actually worth the paper it's printed on, Peter David's Imzadi. It's still a bunch of fanboy wanking tripe, but...

the fact that Riker goes back in time using the Guardian to save Troi is pretty cool, from a romantic standpoint
