looking back on growing up i realize i was kind of a douche my little brother, and all the people i know seem to have been equaly as cruel or harsh to their respective siblings.
is that just the way it is growing up or was anyone ever nice??

my brother used to kick the shit out of me. he was three years older so he was always stronger until i got to age 12 or so and got bigger. then i was able to hold my own.

Opposite for me. I beat up my younger brother until he grew up, realized his ungodly strength and rammed a shower rod through the door I was holding shut... (I was flat against the other side, pole shot out right beside my head - maybe only an inch or less away).

Our sibling relationship has devolved into a cold, 'oh he's in the house let me take a little trip out into the garage' kinda thing.

Did anyone else fight their bro/sis and end up okay?

Actually I'm bensonenson (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/member.php?u=32463). For some reason I have two user names (that I don't ever recall creating).

Anyone know how to delete a user?

(And many thanks, weeka-man. I'm still new, so your comment truly touches me heart. :O )

My younger brother was an ass as a youngster so, no, I wasn't very nice to him. We fought constantly...we are very cool now, though he lives in Japan so I don't get to see him much.

My sister, who is the baby (10 years younger than me), was treated like a little princess by me and we are still close. My older brother was NOT nice to her and they still have issues. Luckily, I could always kick my older bro's ass so he was mean to me once....ONCE.

While I wasn't nice all the time, and did some really crappy things to them (like the time I zipped my brother Ger into a suitcase on the bed in our parents' bedroom and then locked the bedroom door), I managed to do some nice things for them. . .like taking them to the grocery store using the back way and splitting pints of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream during the summers or teaching my sister to ride a 2-wheeler.

I've been fortunate that most of the shitty things I did have now been forgiven and I have pretty good relationships with all 3 of my younger sibs today.

I was a prick to my brother for his first 13 years of life. As a young kid he would flinch when I would walk by him, even if I didnt raise my hands to him. I used to make fun of him constantly and beat him up whenever i felt the urge. Then when he got older it developed into more of a fair fight, we would end up throwing fists a few times a year.

Now I am 27 and he is 24 and we are really close friends

Is there a secret to this outcome ... something I'm missing?

Damn. Good you for guys though.

F_S Had A 2-Year Younger Brother With Whom He Fought Every Single Day Until F_S Was 17 And Bro Was 15. Dad Set The Rules So That We Wouldn't Kill Each Other. Wrestling Only, No Punching Or Girl-Fighting (Biting, Scratching). No Full Nelsons, But Half Nelson's Allowed.

Our Parents Treated Us Very Equally, However The Teachers Made The Problem Worse. F_S Was Usually At The Top Of His Class, While Bro Was An Athlete. Unfortunately, The Teachers Had A Tendency To Say To Bro "When Your Brother Was In This Class He Did This Or That Blah Blah". Of Course, Any Comparison Would Infuriate Him, And He Would Not Only Pick A Fight, But Look For Any Conceivable Thing F_S Might Do Wrong To Tattle To The Parents. Idiot Teachers...Didn't They Know You Should Never Compare Kids??

For About 4 Years In Middle School And High School Fat And Bro Were Blackmailing Each Other. F_S Had Over Bro The Fact That He Once Saw Him Shoplift, And Bro Had Over F_S The Fact That He Saw Fat Pour Some Of The Parent's Liquor Into A Ginger Ale Bottle And Then Sneak It Into A School Dance. It Was Mutually Assured Destruction If The Parents Found Out Either Of Those Facts.

Finally, When F_S Was A Senior And Bro A Sophomore, They Had A Sit-Down And Actually Signed An Agreement Whereby They Would Never Tell On Each Other, And Cease The Fighting. The Agreement Actually Had Monetary Damages If Breached!

The Agreement Has Held For Many Years. We Are Now Very Friendly (and F_S Loves Bro's Kids), But Once In A While Fat'll Look At Bro And Mutter Under His Breath: "You Phucking Tattle-Tale"!!

my brother Mike is 5 years younger and in my teenage years I wanted nothing to do with him. I remember my friends and i running away from him and climbing high fences, running through backyards just to lose him. he was pesky, persistent, and always curious about what i was doing. i sincerely feel bad about it now...

My older brother (2 years) would beat the crap out of me when we were kids and then I would go tell on him to the parents and then he'd kick the crap out of me for telling on him. It took me a while to accept the first beating and leave it at that. We're now pretty close.

I was good to my younger brother (seven years younger) and used to let him win all the games we would play.

Three brothers. All younger. There was always a fight a brewin'. But the fear of Dad usually brought them to a stop. But I have my scars. One on the lip when one brother whacked me with a golf ball (I think he used a seven iron) and one in the back from where another brother stabbed me with a pencil, and broke it off. That made me a little dizzy as the lead pumped through me heart.

We're all cool now though. No fighting, but we do make fun of each other, in which everyone has a good laugh.

Youngest of 4, but it was boy, boy, girl, boy--so I was spared from abuse from my older brothers because of a large age difference. My sister on the other hand, was only 3 years older than me, and we fought endlessly.

i was okay to my little brother(i'm 18 months older)...but i think thats because he did everything i wanted him to do. alot of times i told him what gifts to ask for on Christmas and his birthday. it was like having two of each knowing i would get to use them more then he would. i guess that wasn't really all that nice. we did get into a few good fights and my mom always took his side, but by the end of the day we were usually over it. i'm 30 now and he is probably my best friend.

i'm one of 6 kids...it went boy, girl, girl, girl, me, my brother...so maybe having the 3 older sisters helped me and my brother get along.

He did learn very early on the benefit of having an older sister (30's of keystone light ect.)

I have not have a younger sibling but my brother is 8 years older than me and he'd always have to babysit me..

We'd play the fucking craziest games.. Like Street Fighter. BUT we are NOT playing the video game, we're acting it out. We didn't actually hurt each other, but my brother like playing all of the villians and me just being fucking Ken.

And then, one day, he decided to make me a super hero. He made me a full on costume out of cardboard, including a sword. I battle all of chichi's(her big thing was that she was 6 and I was 5) evil henchmen, which were all played with my brother.

My regular person name was (and this was pretty fucked up) Letocious-carabuloscious-withnopowersorstrenthswhatsoever.

And my super hero name was Super Cat. But not cat like the animal, like cool cat, lol.

Any way. There you go. Haha.

My older brother (by about 6 years) liked to dote on me and treat me affectionately... when I was a baby. Then I hit age 3 and he proceeded to kick my ass all the time for several years. He was a big WWF fan at the time, he was the Hulkster, I was unwittingly Piper. The floor was the turnbuckle. Still have scars in the roof of my mouth from that time.

I'd imagine I'd be nicer to a younger brother even if I was still just a little shit-kicking 12 year old.

i have two younger sisters, but only one somewhat close to me in age that i kind of "grew up with". while we had our arguments like any other brother and sister i gotta say we had/have a great relationship. shes one of the coolest and most down to earth people i know and i love her. i have a good relationship with my other younger sister too its just that shes so much younger then me that we never really get good chances to hang out unless i see her at my parents house or we have a family event to go to.

My brother is 6 years older than me and he was pretty much a douche to me growing up but I think it's natural. And anyways it isn't all bad, he was teaching me how to take care of myself and hold my own, so older siblings deserve that much credit.

reminds me of my two eldest brothers. they had to be 16(Joe) and 17(George) so i was 12. i'm sitiing on the couch and the Joe is hauling ass out of George's room. George emerges and whips a pen at Joe. As I watch my brother Joe run I notice the pen is stuck in his arm LOL

Another time George got pissed at Joe and took some change out of his pocket and threw it. The coins got embedded in the sheetrock.

That's why George was always quarterback, helluva arm...

I was cruel to my younger brother until another one showed up. Then we joined sides aginst the youngest one. Now we are the best of friends, and he is left to fend for his worthless self. Better to have one great teammate than two mediocere ones. I will burn in hell for this.

I lived with my dad after my parents were divorced and my brother went with my mom. I don't remember much about our relationship before the split bu afterwards we became really good friends. We didn't fight and I never picked on him, probably because we were only around each other 1-2 days a week at the most.
