Can anyone recommend a auto repair shop near lower manhatten, my cousin needs a new radiator AAA towed the car to a guy who wants $800. for the job. thanks.

had the car towed to a shell station on 125th st.said they do it for $550. car is a 95 concord.

he went from lower Manhattan to 125th st? he could have been towed to brooklyn.

$550 isn't awful, but I'd suggest you go to any of the Pakistani guys on 21st street in LIC (there's a zillion of them). They mostly serve the Cabbies, prices are always good and they're open 24/7.
I had a radiator done last year. Towing was $75, radiator was around $350 with labor if I remember correctly. They never had the car longer than 1 day all the times I went there. Something easy like an oil change or brakes they take care of you while you wait. They're cheap, they get you in and out fast.

what happened was my cousin a 27 yr old blonde chick broke down in midtown at 1am sun. AAA towed the car to 39th st. monday the mechanic said the job would be $845. or $800 if she paid cash. Tue afternoon my uncle calls me from maine asked if i could help her out.I called the mechanic he tells me the bill will be $745 or $700 cash (they do like that cash) tried to get him down to $650. cash he couldn't do it his boss would " BITE HIS FACE OFF". I told the guy i'll have the car towed to another shop ok that will be $150.storage and $75.diagnostic fee. now i call AAA and bitch to them about this clown they said pay it and fight it later and they will send a tow truck free of charge. so i had the car towed up to 125 st( my cousin lives up there) i just google auto repaired this guy said the job should be about $550. but i hope i'ts just a bad hose.
