A while ago there was talk about them being a guest on a Food Network show.

Is it the next food network star? Anyone know which episode?

Anyone know if ESD will participate in the appearance?

I think he would be a great challenger on Iron Chef America where the secret ingredients are peanut butter and jelly.

If I remember Ron didn't seem like he was happy with there appearance. So I hope that they mention when they will be on. I also could be wrong about Ron not being happy.

I remember Ron saying something about how uncomfortable he was judging the contestants who seemed to have so much on the line. I think the quote was something along the lines of..."I just didn't like having to tell her she wasn't going to make it. Seemed so important to her."

Anywho, the point is, it sounded like Ron was saying that they booted a lady off the show. So, could be a spoiler depending on which contestants are left.

The Ron & Fez segment could be in the first half of the episode of "Met the Press". I mean, when they first started the show, they would do one challenge and then do another. But, it is a little late in the competition for challenges. There's three peeps left. I just hope they didn't strap the Ron & Fez thing for Rachel Ray. Granted she's one of those chicks you'd bang all night and she'd reward you with spinach quiche in the morning but it would suck if they didn't acknowledge what they did with Ron and Fez

Well, on that Rachael Ray thing, he did steal Emeril's act...

Nice spot for the Buddays, but I wish it had been longer. I wonder if Ron got to talk food with the contestants like he does with the established chefs and it got cut for TV purposes or they just did the wacky radio guys schtick. After he gets done with the Unmasked bit let's get him a half hour interview show on Food Network talking to chefs he likes and respects. Be dialing people.

Awful? What was so bad about it? Big deal ron had alot of makeup on. Maybe he has bad skin. I've watched the entire food network series, and I think the ron and fez spot was pretty good. The only thing I thought was maybe it was too short, and fezzie seemed to be a background player. Ron and fez got a bunch of plugs, and they did what they were supposed to do. Give them a real life situation, where they are asked weird questions and have to respond appropriately.

my thoughts exactly. how often do we get to see the buddays on national television? plus what are you really expecting from the Food network? Let's face it's not like they're household names, I think the fact they got this exposure at all is great. A shoe-maker refers to a cook that puts out a product that resembles the sole of ones shoe. not only in flavor, but also in texture. The aroma and visual make-up of the dish plays into this colorful metaphore as well. Used in a sentance: You're a god=damn shoemaker, this crap you put before me is shit. Take it away and tell the dish washer to take the cooks place. I'm sure they could do better.

I remember them discussing being in the "closet" studio for this segment and how they did a fake inerview (not wearing headphones during most of the segment).

I was. The interesting part for me wasn't the actual studio where Ron and Fez were, but the outside. For a very brief second, I thought it was the real thing, with the window to the left of door. But then I knew it wasn't. Interesting that they put a bunch of XM stuff, like the big O&A sign up, to try to make it look real.

I had totally forgotten it was on last night. Luckily MsTub and Sean watch the show. I hear a yell from the other room "RON AND FEZ ARE ON TV"! I dropped everything and bolted.
It was awesome to see my buddays on TV. I just wish it were a bit longer. You never got a feel as to how smart and funny R&F are. Fezzie's reactions were priceless. I was just waiting for Ronnie to say "You call that cooking, you fuckin' hayseed?!"

I hope that chick with the giant plate in her mouth does not make it. I could not stand seeing that every week. Way too distracting. I was wondering when it was going to fly out of her big head. Or if she was going to go up to fez, and those eyes roll back white. Then there would be the high-pitched screeming... I'll never watch the food network again, Chief.

How did Ron and Fez abstain from commenting on Rory's Mr. Ed gums???

It was short, and really didn't get across the flavor of the show, but it was really cool to see Ron & Fez on TV. I did think it was funny that Fez had to taste all of the crap that the contestants made.

I agree with ya MikeyBoy.. I'm going to try to screen cap Fez's face when he was tasting the food..

I'm thinking that maybe they weren't happy with it because perhaps they were sold the idea that they would be guest judges (be a bigger part of the show), or even have that spot broadcasted live on XM (I'm assuming that wasn't broadcasted because I didn't hear it, but I may have missed it if it was on..)

i think they were upset because as Mikey said, they did not get to do their thing. they had a list of questions they had to ask, and they had to make them cook shit in a microwave

Oh totally, I'm seeing it as they were being orchestrated rather than letting them do their thing.. Kinda like "here's what we want you to do, read this script.."

Just watched it. Really liked it. I would have liked more comment from the best in the business intead of from the contestants.

And what is that these guys are Negative or you know how these guys are shit? Where did that come from.

Fez killed with his comments and epressions on the Chinese Nachos tasting.

They both were so cool and smooth, like they do this sort of thing all day long.

if its entitled "meet the press", then it replays tonite at 7pm.
much better than somebody's "half-hour heads up" (j/k...)

I thought it was appropriate that they broadcast a food segment from the pantry.

That may have been the first time there was a "Rory" in the studio that Fez didn't find attractive.

yeah.. she sure has alot of teeth.. and gum...
very distracting...

i don't think she was familiar with the show either...
but might score points for saying she was...

her instructions by the food network girls
was to never put the show in a bad light...
and plug plug plug...

and ron did ask.. (as instructed?) at least one question each
(that made the air) that put the contestant back on their heels...

chopper girl even got a cut-away insert commenting on how they 'got-her'...
caribe guy had to do damage control at one point...

ronnie (at any moment) reminds me of a woman i once worked with...
she insulted me so cleverly (and deeply) that i thanked her at the time
(thinking it was a compliment) and i never 'played' with her again...
not a slouch.. i was in over my head...
as is anyone that crosses swords with mr. bennington...
(kinda why i don't call the show anymore... i'm outta my leage..big-time)

OH.. AND ISN'T MAKE-UP AMAZING ????
FEZ LOOKED 'ALMOST' HANDSOME...!!!

No. They were not great. Too scripted an non-Bennington. It was a thrill to see them on Tv, but those were not our real buddays.

It was cool, but that blond chick was full of shit about being a listener, imo. Since when do R&F like to put their guests in a tight corner (or however she put it)? They might do it with buddays, but not really in interviews.

I agree completely, her description of them and their show was way off.

Here is the clip I made from tonights show. Post/Share this wherever you want. Sorry for the rough ending, but I just did not feel well enough to sit there and time it out.

As of this post, youtube was still converting the video. it should be done in about an hour, or so they say.

Edit2: This should be working now...

Basically, the focus of this were the contestants, not Ron and Fez. They were really just part of the back drop for them. I think we as fans were expecting too much. I agree it was great to see them on national tv, but it really could have been anybody.

Having said that, hearing that little JAGoff say that he "owned that booth", the same booth that Mr. Bennington was in really pissed me the fuck off! It would give me great happiness to see him in the real booth with my heroes. It would give me even more happiness to watch him walk out of the booth carrying his ass in his arms.

Oh course, but who knows when director's cut Dvd comes out I'm sure you'll see the real-bennington outtakes.

I love Fez. If anyone saw the bboys for the first time, they'd say He's the funny one. His last line was great.

Ron must have been still be pist off about that scarf he had stolen at the Food Network, he really liked that scarf. Why didn't they do the interveiws on the live radio show? The boys would have brought the real energy.

Because they couldn't have revealed who the last 3 contestants back when they did the intertviews.

Just saw this now and I agree with Wireman, it wasn't the best but it was FoodNetwork's gig so it was all about the contestants. Atleast R&F got the tv airtime, it could have been worse but it could have been a whole hell of a lot better.
