I hate, hate, HATE that video.

Not the footage, but the fucking drunken White Sox hump that is narrating it. And that it's set up like the Cubs lost even though they won off of a 2-run Soriano single in the bottom of the 9th.

The guy running onto the field is hysterical...clearly drunk, a total shrimp, not wearing any shoes, gets totally clotheslined by the security guy....which is probably a good thing, because Howry is a big guy and was just waiting for him on the mound to take him down. Good times!

WOW, I don't even like the cubs, but I really really hate that guy giving his commentary in that video. And if the cubs won that game how is one three run homer, "One of the biggest chokes in Cubs history."? I think that video upset me more than it should have.

Well, if they had lost, it would have been a bad one. They went into the top of the 9th winning 8-3 and proceeded to give up 6 runs, that 3-run homer being the capper that gave the Rockies a brief 1-run lead.

Now the Cubs can potentially sweep the Rockies today with Zambrano on the mound, given them their 2nd sweep in a row for a 6-game winning streak. GO COBS.

Well put....if they won, they didnt exactly choke, did they? I'm so glad to have heard this if only to have a frame of reference when Ronnie does his Mike North thing....classic.

Meh. The incident a few years ago where the Cubs pitcher actually punched the drunk was much better.

That's not Mike North doing the narration. It's some southsider faking the accent.

So...that's their excuse for continuing to show up and watch the Cubs.

Too many of them are they just because "it's Wrigley Field!" and they had WGN on their shitty cable provider growing up and they wanna sing the Stretch.

The rest of us are they because we like the sweet stinging pain of heartbreak.

so a baseball fan from out of town can't come to appreciate wrigley field and a cubs game without being called a "tourist fan". that's bullshit.

I'm saddened to learn that the voice was not that of Mike North. I've heard some clips of him on R&F, but I would really like to get a sense of this ass clown by listening for a nice 10 minute chunk of time.....

...or do i?

No, you really don't. He's a monster. Good for a laugh the first time you hear him, but then he gets really old, really fast.

Where did I say that? There's clearly a difference between a "tourist fan" who wants to just show up to say they got loaded in Wrigley Field and people who want to show up to see some baseball and appreciate the history of such a classic stadium. I never said people from out of town can't or shouldn't show up...hell, a ton of the tourist fans are people who live in Chicago.

I share your pain.

The Mets had a douche like that once...it was the mid-late 80's....went by the name of Tim McCarver. Now he's off annoying people on a national level.

I get the chills just thinking about him.

okay, you cleared it up. your two posts said something of the like of tourist fans watching wgn etc. with nothing about fans of baseball. im sure being in chicago you see tons of drunk out of town fans doing the shit you have said. the two games i watched in wrigley in the bleachers was probably the best baseball experience i have ever had.

Out of curiosity, where were your seats? Way left or way right seem to be the best spots...the middle areas tend to fill up with the drunks who don't give a damn.

both games sat way right field, almost directly behind sosa. they were about 3 rows up. i actually got a homerun ball off of bellhorn in batting practice and got it signed by joe carter after the game. him and chip carey were broadcasting from the bleachers that game. and the heckling of abreu was a riot.

Great, great spot. Getting a good seat in the Wrigley bleachers is one of the best baseball experiences around.

What they need is for the courts to start giving out a couple nights in jail and the shit will stop..or do what NYPD does a beating under the stadium.

Well, the dude that ran on the field will likely be charged with a felony and get a really heavy fine plus a night in jail.
