I'm sure a lot of you remember this show.
It was the one with Bob Ross, the dude that had the white-guy afro.
It was the best. I bring this up because I'm wondering if its still on television anywhere. I mean I know he's dead but they still show old ones somwhere. I saw one about a year ago on some channel. Any help ??
I know he's not on PBS Channel 13 here in NY.

Ah, the legend of Bob Ross.
What a great show to watch when you are high or bored. Ahh, a happy little tree here, he can't be alone, make a friend for him. I loved the sound that his brush made when he banged it at the side of his easel.
Also when he brought in his furry creatures like a little bird or squirrel friend.
Too bad me passed away. I loved the guy. At least the show repeats on one of those PBS channels.

whatever nellie, you're entitled to your opinion. I think his show was such a trip to watch. I wish I were as happy as Bob was. And I've always been into painting and drawing since I was a kid, and I did learn a few things from his show that I didn't learn in any of art classes I took.

Im all about Bob Ross' afro. And is it just me or does anyone else dig it when he "beats the devil" out of the paint brush?

nellie! how dare you??? (i'm just joking)...seriously, he was a fuckin genius.
why was he such a fuckin ggenius? because he was able to teach the regular joe schmoe how to paint without having to pay 350 or so dollars for an art class. everybody in america had access to something so great as art! that was totally awesome!
in his world of painting, there were no mistakes...just happy little accidents.
that man was talented.
and again, he had the coolest whiteefro.
'nuff said.

Come on did anyone ever accuse
him of being a real artist??
Do you think most people
watche his show to learn how
to paint?? Jeez, lighten up!!
He was like Mr. Rogers for big
kids!!! I loved the episodes
where he had his squirrel with
him. And also his son
sometimes did the show, too. I
love it!

I remember seeing some episodes where his son would
substitute for him. No afro though.

That show was great! He made
painting look so easy and
soothing. Sure, he painted
things you'd see at a Best
Western, but who's to say it
still wasn't art, man?! He
painted from the SOUL!

the way he felt, there was only one tenique to paint, but there are many different ways to paint. for example he used oil and i use acrylic.
everyone feels differently about him, but i feel that a better example of how to paint would be to have many different teachers, that way you can learn a different tecnique, and always practice.
too cute, that's exactly what i consider him :)
