Never surfaced? The shows been off the air for, what, a few months? Patience, grasshopper.

My wife and I DEFINITELY miss it! None of the three seasons dissappointed. Always a good episode and there is no better ant-hero than Swearingin!
There was talk of 2 two hour movies, but it looks like HBO probably scrapped that project

I didn't find myself caught up in the last season, like I was the first two.
I would still watch the movie(s) if they put them on, though.

When they cancelled it they said that if they did the movies that they wouldn't air until sometime in 2008.

Now there is something we can agree on. I've been checking imdb every couple of months since deadwood went off the air, to see if there is anything about the movies. Not yet, but I'll be so disappointed if we don't get any closure.

I just bought all three seasons this week, It's the best series HBO has ever put out, and if it weren't for Band of Brothers it would be the best thing hbo ever put out.

Looks like the Deadwood movies are dead. Seriously thinking about dropping HBO for Showtime.

Yeah, Ian Macshane confirmed that they have dismatled the Deadwood sets, which means that they arent shooting the movies. I loved this show.

Yeah HBO has become a major disappointment. I keep getting hooked on shows that they don't see through (Deadwood, Lucky Louie, John from Cincinnati, etc.). Makes it hard to get invested in any more of their programming.

Totally agree about the sudden downturn of HBO and the emergence of Showtime. They really need to come strong w/ a bigtime drama show. Only one left is The Wire (greatest show in the history of television).
Meanwhile, I am loving Dexter and Brotherhood is an amazing show. Californication totally surprised me and I got hooked. Weeds has gotten progressively worse as the seasons have gone on but still more watchable than anything on network tv.
My two cents.

I really miss Deadwood, I fucking loved that show. To hear the movies aren't being made pisses me off. They also floated rumors about a "Band of Brothers Pacific" that seems to be going nowhere.
HBO stinks.

I just watched the series this summer and LOVED IT! I really could have done without JFC if it meant just four more hours of Deadwood

Going nowhere? (http://imdb.com/title/tt0374463/)
It took a while to film BoB, and look how good that turned out. Patience, man...patience.

You just gave me my first message board wood!
Last I heard they it was all just "talking" about doing another series. The original Band of Brothers is my favorite series of all time. I'm really excited about this now.

I'm halfway through season 2. Is there a bad character on this fucking show? Every single person on here is amazing! How does HBO always get such great actors who you don't know their names?

I just stumbled onto this series a couple of months ago myself. I was so into it that I ran through the whole series in under two weeks. I completely agree that there isn't a bad character on the show. I'm just so pissed that there was more of a story to tell & they could have easily had another full season, but HBO pulled the plug...just like Rome.

Greatest dialogue in any shows history:
Wild Bill Hickok: Sure you wanna quit playing, Jack? The game's always between you and getting called a cunt.
Tom Nuttall: Meeting adjourned, fellas, take it outside.
Wild Bill Hickok: That dropped eye of yours looks like the hood on a cunt to me, Jack. When you talk, your mouth looks like a cunt moving.
Jack McCall: I ain't gonna get in no gun fight with you, Hickok.
Wild Bill Hickok: But you will run your cunt mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker.

It's weird this thread was bumped, I'm going through the series again on DVD. Still one of the best things ever on television. Brian Cox as Jack LaGrishe is outstanding.

I'm halfway through season three, and I had to pause it, I just saw the scene where Dority fights the bad guy's right hand man in episode 'Two headed Beast' (think eye gouge if you've seen it) and the entire sequence might be one of the greatest sequences I've ever seen, it's viscerally stunning. Goddamn this show is great.

I miss this show. You would think HBO would put out the extra money considering they havent put out any great drama series besides True Blood since they cancelled Deadwood and Rome.
And dont say Big Love. Big Love fucking blows.

HBO's programming has seemed kind of adrift for a while. There was a whole rash of shows about people in therapy (the awful "Tell Me That You Love Me", and the just OK "In Treatment") and they don't seem to have found a real breakthrough other than "True Blood" lately. (And I don't think the new show about the guy with the big dick is going to be it.)
There are glimmers of hope: the new David Simon show about New Orleans looks promising, and the Song of Ice and Fire series should be good. But, yeah, I'm debating whether I should keep HBO and just subscribe to the series that do look good on iTunes or something like that.

You're kidding right? Is that how the show ended? I've been in spirits town, have I asked if they knew it was ending this season? Cause if so that ending is maybe almost as bad as BSG, I mean nothing will ever be, but it brings it to mind.
Still love the show.

Ugh I didn't need to see this, I'm on disc two of season 3 of BSG, it's too late to turn back now.

That was not intended to be the series finale- I think they expected to get picked back up and then after it was canceled HBO talked about giving them another 4 hours to wrap it up, but that never materialized.
The last time I watched the series you could see where they were headed- There was a big fire in Deadwood (Harry Manning's fire truck) and the Gem was rebuilt as a Theater/Saloon, so I'm assuming Langrishe would've stuck around.
