Anyone watching Ice Road Truckers on the History channel?
It's a show about the truckers who have to use the lakes in Canada as roads for the 60 days they freeze enough to drive on each year to bring supplies to the diamond mines in northern Canada.

Trying to capitalize on the success of Deadliest Catch. Not as good though. Why dont they just install pontoons on the cabs of the trucks...to ensure the drivers dont crash through and sink?

i have it on my DVR, but have not watched it yet. it seemed like a deadlist catch ripoff. i will wait until i have 3 or 4 and watch them.

It's narrated and produced by Thom Beers, the same guy who created Deadliest Catch, so it is pretty similar. I think he just likes crazy jobs.
I'm mostly annoyed that Comcast doesn't carry the History channel in HD. And all the promotions for the show talk about how the whole thing was shot in HD. Stupid bandwidth on cable.
Miss DirecTV.

The show isn't bad but the job looks like a blast. I'd love to take some time off one winter and try it. That and Australian road trains are on the list of things I want to try before I cash out.

i liked it but yeh its basically deadliest catch in a truck instead of a boat
but thats some crazy shit
something like only 24 inches of ice and some how these heavy loads dont break through and kill everybody

its pretty nuts but not as good as deadliest catch. maybe if the trucks were attacked by the Imperial forces like Hoth then i'd watch

They are over dramatizing. On the second episode teased a guy in a scuba suit and acting like someone went down. Nope. Just showing the scuba guy.
Ice road is interesting though.

I read that this show's first show got the largest viewing audience in the History channel's history! Kinda weird.

There's a new episode tonight. Its a look back at last season, then I think Season 2 starts next week.
I love all of these tough guy reality shows. Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men rule. I just wish they'd stop over-producing them. Adding sounds all the time doesn't help the quality of the show.

I am SO there!!!!
I forgot the people: I THOROUGHLY LOVED the younger brown-haired maverick, although his Canadian accent drove me nuts. He was very brave.
Also l loved the young blond-haired guy who had a mid-season injury.

They made it seem every single episode of last season like something bad was going to happen. They teased the fact that someone went through the ice and it turned out to be not that bad. I understand the danger of even one tire going through the ice, but ... well, I guess I was hoping for a little more carnage.

I think they're going to another different Ice Road this time. Cameras are banned from the ice road the first season showcased because of the History channel's editing, and last season was kind of boring. I think they're in Alaska this time.

ive seen it a few times, and at least it seems dangerous. You can see and hear ice cracking and you know the people can die. So i can get into it.
Not like that fuckin awful Ax Men. OH NO HIS SPIKE CAME OUT AND HE MIGHT FALL 14 FEET TO THE GRASS. Stop it pussies. Just cut the fuckin tree down

It actually is like Ax Men. Everything is what could have happened.
I find this show strangely fascinating though...

If you listen to the "ice" cracking, its the same fucking noise everytime. They can't go on the original ice road because they faked the danger so much.

Season one was better than season two, but I will give the new season a shot. It is more one of those shows I watch because I started watching than because I have to watch if that makes sense.

Is she hot? Or is she hot when you compare her to the other truckers? Reminds me of the one female on a construction site.
