Why does the search box suck? I noticed someone else mention this in a recent thread and everytime I try to search for past threads my results come back with zero posts, threads etc? Does anyone know how to get the search to work or does everyone have a problem with the Search box?

Click on "advanced search" and that will usually give you decent results. You can choose whether you want to search an exact thread title, or merely a mention in a post of your keyword or words.

You can also search a user's name.

It gave me crap before because my keyword wasn't more than 4 characters.

Not much more you can do w/ " MTV ".

ok, I looked at the settings. You now have to have the search word be at least 2 letters, so you can't search on A or I, but mtv is ok. The search may take a a lil time to update the index, so please give it a lil time for the searches to be 100% for smaller words.

finally, after all of gvac's complaints, a concession is made! looks like there's promise we won't have to splinter of rf.net.

you can also look up phrases by putting them in quotes, so you could look up "MTV video"

you can use wildcards too. So to search for any word starting with Just, use Just*.
