Fast forward to this morning, I flip by CMT and see this

Her name is Rissi Palmer...and while that song is godawful terrible and makes me want to stab myself through the eyeballs (not unlike much of the other drivel that comes out of Nashville and calls itself "country music") it will be interesting to see if she catches on...she certainly is very unique for the genre

It's actually not horrible -- there's a real earthly blues-iness (is that a word?) to it that I kind of dig. It doesn't sound quite as processed as a lot of mainstream country does these days ("country" now is actually closer to '70s soft rock, more the Eagles than Hank Williams Sr.)

It also doesn't hurt that she's hot as hell.

I actually saw that the other day and had to confirm I was on CMT and not MTV Soul.

Me I enjoy country music a lot, more the early 90's stuff, but i dig some current stuff and as long as the person singing it makes it " country " I don't care what color they are.

I'll take a black female singer that's gonna give me that steel guitar and country twang sound over a shitty pop music Faith Hill anyday.
